Alabama Evals: Class 2A Region 5 Top Players

Region 5 in Class 2A is home to talented players from Addison, Aliceville, Cold Springs, Lamar County, Midfield, Sulligent and Winston County.
The players listed below could be players to watch in all of Class 2A in 2021.
<strong>Ty Williams </strong>| 6-2 QB | Aliceville
Williams is a sensational presence in the pocket. He doesn't hold the ball too long after the snap and stays poised under pressure.
He led the region in passing last season and could repeat that in 2021. Williams has a strong arm and can adjust the play at the line of scrimmage to confuse the defense. He can also scramble out of the pocket to gain yard when defenders are closing in on the pocket.
<strong>Jermaine Brewer </strong>| 5-11 RB, LB | Aliceville
Brewer led the region in rushing in 2020. He has good size and is quick off the handoff to turn the corner and make defenders miss.
Brewer can plow his way through defenders when running up the middle and is also excellent in the pass catching scheme.
<strong>Lawson Spruiel </strong>| 6-2 OLB, ATH | Sulligent
Spruiel is one of the best overall playmakers in Region 5. He can play linebacker to perfection and excels at making tackles and getting pressure in the backfield.
But as an athlete, he can be used anywhere on the field. Spruiel has great hands in the receiving game and possesses quick speed to take handoffs as a rotational running back.
<strong>Landon Ball </strong>| 6-1 WR, CB | Aliceville
Ball is another Aliceville star that can make plays on both sides of the ball. He led the region in receiving last season and has great versatility as a wideout. He is quick off the line of scrimmage and can make defenders miss after the catch.
Entering 2021, Ball has the chance to climb up the rankings and become a top player in Class 2A.
<strong>Ryker Morgan </strong>| 5-11 QB | Winston County
Morgan may not be the top quarterback in the region, but he is a close second. Morgan has terrific arm strength and showed great promise as a junior in 2020.
He can check down to his open receiver or sling the ball on a deep route and show his long ball skills.
<strong>Tayler Bircheat </strong>| 5-8 WR, DB | Sulligent
Bircheat is a sensational receiver that has good hands given his smaller 5'8" frame. He excels at gaining yards after the catch and making defenders miss on a 50/50 ball.
At defensive back, Bircheat is a solid secondary player that can run stride for stride in route with his receiver and defend passes or get interceptions by jumping the route.
<strong>Dylan Young </strong>| 5-10 WR | Winston County
Young is a talented receiver that possesses great hands and looks in every pass thrown his way. He can hesitate on a route and draw the defender away from him to get open.
Young could be one of the better underrated receivers in all of Class 2A during his senior year.
