A big time Running Back who is also a damaging pass catcher using his speed to score a large number of touchdowns for the Arkansas 3A State Champion Harding Academy Wildcats. I will also include a 2023 WR from the Quitman Bulldogs.
Brayden Jay- WR 2022 Cabot Panthers
For years the Cabot Panthers were known as a ground and pound, three yards and a cloud of dust. They were every bit of that. Starting in 2020 the Panthers took a new approach under a new head coach who installed a very impressive version of the spread offense. Wide Receiver Brayden Jay took full advantage of this new change. Brayden has speed not hardly matched by many. Brayden stands at 5’9 and weighs 175 pounds. Brayden caught 60 passes for 1,165 yards averaging 19.4YPC scoring 11 touchdowns. Very versatile, Brayden can line up in the one, two, or three receiver spot causing massive damage to a defense. Brayden is as dangerous returning kicks as he is a receiver finding the crease for six. Brayden can turn the rhythm out route pattern, which is designed for short yardage and to attack defenses who are playing off at the cornerback position and turn it into huge yards gained after the catch. Brayden is certainly a WR his opponents have spent the offseason preparing for. Colleges should be watching this young man shine this fall.
Mason Rolland- WR 2022 Perryville Mustangs
Mason stands at 5’7 and weighs in at 161 pounds. Mason caught s8 passes for 730 yards averaging 19.2YPC, and 2 TDs. The first thing that stands out for me when I was watching Mason on film was his academic scores are just as impressive as his football statistics. Mason has a 4.0 GPA and scored a 30 on his ACT. After knowing this and watching film I realized Mason uses his intelligence in how he plays football. Playing inside or outside receiver does not seem to phase Mason because he understands his route tree for all WR spots. He reads a cornerback very well, using his speed to blast past the defense on vertical routes as good as I have seen. Colleges should be watching Mason this 2021 season.
Andrew Miller- RB/WR 2022 Harding Academy Wildcats
Andrew has tremendous talent as a running back and is pretty crafty as a receiver. Andrew stands at 6’0 195 pounds. Andrew has great speed as a RB or receiver always looking downhill and usually finding the end-zone. In Andrew’s Junior season he accounted for 35 touchdowns and had 1,952 all-purpose yards. Andrew’s abilities makes for a potent combination that defenses should not forget about in 2021. Colleges should have Andrew on there radar.
Jacob Mathis-WR/TE 2022 Greenbrier Panthers
Jacob comes into his senior season with big plans to make his name known statewide. Only playing in three games in 2020 Jacob was able to make his presence known catching 10 passes for 249 yards, averaging an astounding 24.9YPC and 4 TDs. Jacob is long and tall making an easy target for his Quarterback. Landon is long and tall with a big stride making his vertical route running very dangerous to opposing teams. I am interesting in seeing what Jacob can do in a full season for the Panthers and I believe colleges should be as well.
Jackson Fox- WR 2022 Harding Academy Wildcats
Jackson is looking to take on a bigger role this season for the Wildcat offense and he has the abilities to do so. Jackson stands at 5’9 and weighs in at 145 pounds. Though not big in his size, Jackson makes up for with his heart. Jackson caught 36 passes for 386 yards averaging 10.7YPC and scored 1 TD. Jackson should be on college radars and should see him play.
Trevor Locke- WR 2023 Quitman Bulldogs
Trevor will just be a Junior this 2021 season but do not let that stop you from seeing him play. Trevor has incredible skills as a receiver. Trevor stands at 5’7 and weighs in at 150 pounds. Trevor runs a 4.9 40 but looks faster on film. Trevor has a gift at knowing how to attack the zone defense. Trevor and his QB practice this daily and it shows on film because there timing is excellent. Trevor knows where he is going and once turned the ball is generally there. Trevor turns short completions into long TDs due to his incredible burst of speed and agility to make people miss. After watching Trevor on film I realized this kid is special and I am looking forward to his 2021 season and colleges should be as well.
