Top Offensive Linemen To Know in 7A Region 6

One of the fastest growing areas in the country, Forsyth County, Georgia is home to six schools that make up 7A Region 6. There is more talent coming through Forsyth County each and every year, and the region is loaded with some of the top offensive line talent in the state. The region produced Georgia Bulldog signee [player_tooltip player_id="33668" first="Dylan" last="Fairchild"] in the 2021 class, and they will produce more D1 talent in 2022 and beyond. Here are a few offensive linemen to know in the region for the 2021 season... &nbsp; <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="102940" first="Grayson" last="Mains"] - Lambert</strong> The region already has one lineman committed to an SEC school, and it’s the big offensive tackle from Lambert. Known as one of the top "under the radar" linemen going into the 2020 season, Mains had an excellent junior season and was able to earn offers from South Carolina, Tennessee, and Michigan State this spring. It didn’t take him too long to make his decision as the massive 6-foot-5 275-pounder committed to South Carolina earlier this month. He bends exceptionally well for his size and can dominate opposing defenders with his size and length. He’ll only get better as he continues to add weight and more muscle in the offseason. &nbsp; <strong>Elisha Samples - North Forsyth</strong> Up in northern part of the county is where you’ll find one of the best offensive tackles north of Cumming. Another lean offensive tackle at. 6-foot-4 270-pounds, he imposed his will early and often last season as he was one of the more athletic tackles in the region. He moves his feet well and plays with a strong base. He’s w warrior in the weight room and set a new personal-best squat in March with a 465-pound squat. He has the length to protect the QB in the passing game, but he’s also a smart, physical run blocker. He does his job each and every play and has the frame that could lead to more offers coming their way. He holds two current offers from Eastern Kentucky and Troy. &nbsp; <strong>Shamurad Umarov – Denmark</strong> The Forsyth County tackle at Denmark is a prospect FULL of potential. Umarov is another tackle who is physically gifted with length and a 6-foot-6 275-pound frame. The Denmark staff has high expectations for him as a junior and feel that he could see his recruitment take off once he adds more weight and muscle. He’s lean and long right now, and he’s working hard on not only gaining weight, but working on the fundamentals and his technique. He was the starting left tackle for the Danes last year as a sophomore and should thrive even more there as a junior. He has the size and raw tools necessary to play somewhere at the next level, but he’ll have to earn it this offseason and in the fall as a junior. Look for Umarov to push for All-Region status in 2021. &nbsp; <strong>John Leonard and Max Freeman - West Forsyth</strong> Arguably the best offensive line duo in the region, Leonard and Freeman give the Wolverines two tough, fundamentally sound offensive lineman with size and strength. Both are excellent in the weight room, with Freeman in particular squatting 500-pounds earlier this spring. Leonard put up 455-pounds respectively. Freeman, a 6-foot-4 275-pounder, earned First Team All-Region 6 - 7A honors last season and is receiving interest from Cornell and Yale. Leonard is a versatile lineman at 6-foot-4 285-pounder who is also expected to have a big senior season for the Wolverines. The senior duo will try to lead West Forsyth to another region championship this fall.
