The 2023 Rankings have just dropped for the state of Texas and here will be a breakdown of a few of the top guys at the Quarterback position. Everybody of the list has shown out on their time on the field but have the potential to put out much more! Such great young talent that has not even scratched the surface! Plenty of gems in the class of 2023 so be sure to keep an eye out for them. Click to see Texas 2023 Rankings [player_tooltip player_id="121941" first="Bo" last="Edmundson"] - Lake Travis In just five games played his sophomore campaign, Edmundson drew much attention with his play. Edmundson managed to throw for 1,409 yard with a completion rate of 68% and 17 touchdowns against 2 interceptions. He was accurate and showed much confidence on the field. Edmundson stands tall in the pocket, shows great footwork, and climbs the pocket with great awareness. Edmundson throws with great zip and delivers the ball on a rope. He puts the ball in the location where only his receivers can catch it, showing his tremendous accuracy. Edmundson was named Offensive Newcomer of the Year for his district and currently holds five offers. The future is incredibly bright for Edmundson as well as the Lake Travis Cavaliers as he continues to develop into an amazing talent. [player_tooltip player_id="60840" first="Brennan" last="Storer"] - Highland Park Storer is a pure playmaker for his team. He shows excellent arm strength and delivers a precise ball with ease, even on the run. The ball comes out beautifully with his release and it gets there quick. Storer is a magician in the backfield, always with his eyes downfield looking to make a play. He extends plays and can wear a defense out with just his movements. One thing that standouts about Storer is his ability to run. He can escape the pocket and make defenders look foolish with his moves. He may not have the top end speed but do not let that fool you. Storer shows great ball carrying vision and does not go down without a fight. Storer currently holds four offers with many more to come in the near future. [player_tooltip player_id="60842" first="Jake" last="Strong"] - Northwest Strong shows incredible field awareness and athleticism. For his sophomore season, Strong managed to throw for 2,319 yards and 29 throwing touchdowns. He also showed of his running ability by running for 505 yards and 7 touchdowns on the year. Strong is tough in the pocket, delivering strikes even under pressure and taking hits. He delivers the ball with accuracy and confidence. When Strong tucks the ball, he turns into a running back. He shows great agility, vision, and power when running the ball, refusing to go down. Strong will be looked upon to have a tremendous junior year and he is more than capable of delivering. He currently holds one offer but many programs have and will be taking more notice of his game. [player_tooltip player_id="121945" first="Ashton" last="DuBose"] - William J. Brennan DuBose is definitely a player to watch for. He is an incredible talent at the quarterback position who shows much poise and a cool confidence when he plays the game. For his sophomore campaign, DuBose threw for 2,021 yards and 29 touchdowns and ran for 835 yards with 12 rushing touchdowns. DuBose shows great arm talent, delivering one of the best deep balls in the class, even when he is escaping the pocket. He moves incredibly well in and out of the pocket, climbing when necessary with his eyes always scanning the field. DuBose shows great accuracy and awareness, putting the ball in just the right location for his receivers. DuBose is a threat with his feet as well, making an impact whenever his number is called. He was named first team all district for a reason and his play showed it. His stock should definitely be on the rise going into his junior year with many programs paying attention to his name. [player_tooltip player_id="121942" first="Austin" last="Novosad"] - Dripping Springs Novosad was named Newcomer of the Year for his district for his fantastic play. He threw for 2,819 yards and 36 touchdowns in just 8 games. Novosad shows great accuracy on his intermediate throws and deep throws. He has a great feel in the pocket and can sense pressure, stepping up in the pocket when needed. Novosad shows a very good eye, dissecting the defenses coverages and hitting his targets in just the right spots in the open spaces. He throws a tight ball, always out of the reach of defenders. Novosad will be a target very soon for programs as he continues to get better every time he touches the field. The future is extremely bright and will be in good hands with every one of these top players in the 2023 class.
