This week, we’ve got three prospects you should be keeping tabs on, including an impressive freshman offensive tackle from the Lowcountry. In case you missed it, here’s the last edition of the series from Monday, March 29.
Blythewood – 2022 LB Myles Cotten
Analysis: Cotten is what you’re looking for at linebacker. What was really impressive in watching his film was his gap integrity – he showed the ability to plug the running lanes before the back can get going past the LOS. His play recognition is excellent as he takes great angles to the ball and pursues the ball carrier with a purpose. He earned All-Region honors for his play during the 2020 season and is an outstanding student in the classroom with a 3.8 GPA.
Lakewood – 2023 WR/CB Brandon Cisse
Analysis: Cisse runs smooth routes at receiver on offense and is a threat to make a big play or take it to the house. He doesn’t dance in space and makes north and south progress. On defense, at the cornerback position, he takes solid angles in providing run support against an option scheme, for example, like we saw on film.
He can get yards after an interception and put his offense in good position as well.
Woodland – 2024 OT/DE Kam Pringle
Analysis: Pringle started as a freshman at the left tackle position on the offensive line and held his own. Standing at 6’7, 285 pounds, he is excellent in pass protection and doesn’t give up on the play even if it’s not going to his side. We saw several plays where he would knock the defensive lineman into next week on scramble drills. He can pull block and stone the defensive end on run plays.
