Here were the top rushing performances from week six.
Below are the top receiving performances from last week in Southern California.
Nathan Acevedo, Grossmont, 2022
Acevedo had a breakout year for Grossmont and really rose his recruiting stock. He broke a school-record for single game receiving yards with 273 in a 37-22 win over Santa Fe Christian. He had 10 catches and two touchdowns in the win. He is undoubtedly a top five receiver in the 2022 class for the San Diego region and I have him as the No. 3 receiver in the class.

Matthew Berenji, Western, 2021
Western outscored its Orange League opponents 253-7 this season. Berenji is a big playmaker for the Pioneers. He had two punt return touchdowns in a blowout win over Century and two receiving touchdowns. He was on pace to be close to a 1,000 yard receiver if there was a normal 10 game season with over 15 touchdowns. He got his first offer Wednesday to Dakota State University.

Arlis Boardhingham, Birmingham, 2022
Watching Boardhingham play against City Section defenses is like watching the big eighth grade kid dominating in the schoolyard against the elementary schoolers. He is the the best player in the City Section and so much fun to watch. He had one of the highlights of the season, a 50-yard touchdown pass against Granada Hills Charter where he caught a jump ball, juked out a defender and threw another one across his body. He has some offers including Texas and it will be interesting to see how his recruiting picks up during the fall.

[player_tooltip player_id="25224" first="CJ" last="Williams"], Mater Dei, 2022
Williams was the biggest deep threat receiver of the game between Mater Dei and St. John Bosco. The Monarchs targeted him frequently and he caught two big touchdown passes from Elijah Brown. One of the touchdowns was on a one-handed catch over a Division 1 recruit and the other he burned a different Division 1 recruit in man coverage. He is very versatile and can win a lot of 50/50 balls. It’s easy to see why all the major schools want him.

Kade Zimmerman, Irvine, 2021
Zimmerman didn’t put up big numbers this past week but he had an incredible walk-off touchdown catch to win the game for the Vaqueros against Dana Hills. He caught 25 passes this season for 452 yards and six touchdowns. He had a record-setting season as a junior and I initially thought it was due to the weak competition in the Pacific Coast League but after watching film and talking to opposing coaches, I am sold on him as a legitimate receiver and prospect. He has an offer from Black Hills State and no matter where he ends up playing, it was nice to see him and Beck Moss connect for one last Irvine touchdown.
