The tight end class in Ohio is not exceptionally deep for 2022 but the top end of the class is exceptional in terms of their size, skill level, and physicality. Besides [player_tooltip player_id="34382" first="Elijah" last="Brown"], [player_tooltip player_id="34391" first="Josh" last="Kattus"], and [player_tooltip player_id="88451" first="Ryan" last="Miller"], here are six other tight ends whose stock is rising and will likely warrant next level scholarships.
Brody Foley 6’6” 235 Cincinnati Anderson
Foley has all the tools to be a difference maker at the D1 level. He is a tall intimidating target as a receiver, a devastating blocker, versatile enough to be an H-Back or Wingback, athletic enough to be flexed out, and a physical runner with the football.
[player_tooltip player_id="34423" first="Hunter" last="Hopperton"] 6’3” 245 Streetsboro
Hopperton dominates defensive ends that line up across from him by locking his hands into their frame and driving them off the line of scrimmage. He is also a sure handed receiving tight end that can catch off target passes. Hopperton is just as physical of a defensive player.
[player_tooltip player_id="34408" first="Will" last="Futhey"] 6’5” 205 Waverly
Will is an exceptional wide receiver that will grow into a tight end at the next level. He can catch anything in the neighborhood, runs very good routes, and can separate from defenders that try to man up on him. Futhey is a top-notch player from a smaller size program.
[player_tooltip player_id="34415" first="Charlie" last="Kenrich"] 6’4” 225 Lakota East
Kenrich stands out as a blocking tight end who can line up in a variety of sets and formations. He is an impressive lead and iso blocker from an H-Back and be the second puller on the power or counter from a wing alignment.
[player_tooltip player_id="34403" first="Shane" last="Keenan"] 6’6” 310 Toronto
Keenan is an offensive tackle playing tight end. He has sure hands, deceptive quickness, and impossible for defensive backs to tackle once he has the football in his possession. Obviously, he owns the line of scrimmage as a blocker and, believe it or not, is a punter.
[player_tooltip player_id="91817" first="Jesse" last="Foster"] 6’3” 215 Mount Vernon
An athlete with the special combination of skill and toughness, Foster doubles at the wingback position and outside linebacker. He is a solid base and down blocker as well as a puller but also a good receiving tight end who makes extra yards in the openfield after the reception.
