Ohio is loaded with talented and big offensive linemen in the 2022 class. There is truly not much difference between the handful of elite linemen and the ones whose stock is rising for the upcoming season. Here are six of those players who will all play at the next level and are now receiving the attention they deserve.
[player_tooltip player_id="34416" first="Brian" last="Parker"] 6’5” 285 Cincinnati St. Xavier
Parker is one of the most athletic offensive centers around. He is strong in the upper body and technically sound in terms of footwork and hand placement. Parker can reach a shaded nose guard with ease and can chip to the second level to pick up linebackers.
[player_tooltip player_id="91518" first="Maurice" last="Hamilton"] 6’4”330 Cleveland Heights
This massive offensive lineman can maul and move defenders off the line like a snowplow. Hamilton, at the guard position, displays good feet when trapping or pulling and leading up to level two defenders.
[player_tooltip player_id="34440" first="Gavin" last="Rohrs"] 6’4” 300 Marysville
An outstanding run blocker, Rohrs engulfs the opponent and locks his hands in to the frame, drives his legs, and finishes the block. Rohrs does a masterful job of reaching a 5-technique with his footwork and body control. Rohrs is also a solid pass protector.
[player_tooltip player_id="126533" first="Ethan" last="Green"] 6’7” 265 Fremont Ross
Green is one of the very best pass protecting offensive tackles in the state due to his length. He also is quick enough out of his stance to reach a wide 9 technique. Green is going to be a special player at the next level once he fills out.
[player_tooltip player_id="34424" first="Kendrix" last="Goodman"] 6’2” 335 Fairfield
Goodman is powerful wide body offensive guard who has a devastating first strike. He sustains his blocks on opposing defensive linemen keeping leverage, hand control, and a good base. He is also athletic enough to pick up defenders in space.
[player_tooltip player_id="91519" first="Carter" last="Smith"] 6’6” 250 Olentangy Liberty
Smith really takes advantage of his length by gaining inside hand position then locking in and sustaining his block. He then uses his power to move and control the defender. Smith has very good agility for such a tall lineman.
