Another week is in the books in Oregon, and there were numerous RB's who had some big time performances that are worth recognizing. Some of them have had big games all year, and others decided to step up and ball out this week to make themselves known. Here's a look at the top 5 rushers of the week: Tanner Fletcher, 5’9" 170lbs, Hood River Valley HS ’21 Fletcher popped off for a massive game, as he ran for 247 yards and 6 TD’s on 33 carries to beat Hillsboro 58-14. He proved that he can serve as a workhorse type back and carry the load for a run heavy offense. Fletcher has solid vision and does a great job finding narrow holes to burst through. He has solid balance to be able to stay up after contact, and does a great job running though initial contact as well. He keeps his momentum going forward which aids in his ability to consistently pick up extra chunks of yards. [player_tooltip player_id="28767" first="Nate" last="Garcia"], 5’11" 180lbs, West Salem HS ’21 Garcia had a big night as he rushed for 225 yards and 5 TD’s to help West Salem secure the win over Sprague High 35-21. Garcia sizes up with a lean, athletic frame and displays an excellent initial burst and hits the hole hard. He shows a nice change of direction in open space to be able to make opponents miss. He can stop and reverse field on a dime which gives him that big play ability, and possesses solid overall speed. Explosive RB overall and had a big time game for West Salem. [player_tooltip player_id="28845" first="Royce" last="Fasel"], 6’0" 225lbs, Glencoe HS ’22 Fasel had a monster night with 6 totoal TD’s, as he had 4 on the ground and also threw 2 TD passes to beat Franklin High 39-0. He has a tremendnous build and is an absolute unit to bring down. He’s a 2-way standout for Glencoe and a very coachable athlete. He displays excellent functional strength, as the wight room transfers tot he field with ease for Fasel. He has solid short area quickness, and is a mean, downhill runner that will punish anyone in his path. Luke Roberts, 6’0" 200lbs, Mountain View ’21 Another kid with a strong, athletic build that has been a beast this season. Roberts ran for around 300 yards, which included an 82 yard TD where he took it up the gut, gave a slight stiff arm, and then it was just a track meet to the endzone from that point. Roberts has an excellent combination of vision and physicality, and can use that top in speed in the second level to finish off big runs. He has been lights out for Mountain view, and had himself a big game this past week to help Mountain View finish undefeated. Kiez White, 5'7" 160lbs, McLoughin HS '21 White had a big night for McLoughlin as he ran for 327 yards and 5 TD's to blowout Riverside High 48-0. White is a twitchy and speedy ball carrier that is elusive in tight spaces. He can slip through narrow and closing lanes and make his way into the second level. He stepped up big for McLoughlin, and had himself a big time game for a blowout win.
