Maryland’s Top Class of 2022 Wide Receivers

Prep Redzone will release an updated list of the top Class of 2022 Maryland High School football players during the month of May. In the meantime, we will spend the next several weeks doing research on prospects. This isn’t an exact science. COVID-19 shortened the season of a lot of high school football prospects in Maryland.. Some players didn’t even get to play during their junior season. Therefore, some players did not have enough film to make this initial list. Prep Redzone Maryland is always open to hear from coaches. That’s very impressive considering his high school did not play any football during the 2020-2021 season. <strong>No. 9 [player_tooltip player_id="90621" first="Devon" last="Anderson"]/6-2/195/Northwest (previously not ranked)</strong> Anderson has an offer from UMass. Anderson and his high school team played only one game this spring. <strong>No. 8 [player_tooltip player_id="136034" first="Zimeir" last="Handy"]/5-8/175/Decatur</strong> Handy is one of the few players on this list who was able to play some games during the 2020-2021 season. He caught 35 passes for 529 yards (15.1 ypc) and 10 touchdowns in the seven games he played this spring. <strong>No. 7 [player_tooltip player_id="136033" first="Jordan" last="Scarbrough"]/5-10/185/St. Mary Ryken (previously not ranked)</strong> Scarbrough has an offer from Navy. He has some quickness to him and runs good routes. Scarbrough will be a solid slot wide receiver at the Division I level. <strong>No. 6 [player_tooltip player_id="90481" first="Malik" last="Baker"]/5-11/190/St. Frances</strong> Baker has an offer from Boston College. He played his junior year season at Oxon Hill High School before reclassifying and transferring to St. Frances. St. Frances has played one game in the past 12-15 months. <strong>No. 5 [player_tooltip player_id="90626" first="Andrew" last="Jacobs"]/5-11/190/St. Frances</strong> Jacobs has an offer from Tennessee. <strong>No. 4 [player_tooltip player_id="90471" first="DJ" last="Linkins"]/6-3/170/St. John’s (previously not ranked)</strong> Linkins holds an offer from Pitt. <strong>No. 3 [player_tooltip player_id="90512" first="Lamar" last="Patterson"]/5-9/175/St. Frances (previously No. 2)</strong> Patterson has an offer from Liberty, Arizona State, UMass, Michigan, Morgan State, Pittsburgh, and Tennessee. <strong>No. 2 [player_tooltip player_id="90619" first="Ike" last="White"]/5-10/180/St. Frances (previously not ranked)</strong> Boston College, Cincinnati, Maryland, Minnesota and Virginia Tech are among his ten offers. <strong>No. 1 [player_tooltip player_id="90509" first="Peter" last="Kikwata"]/6-1/170/Northwest (previously not ranked)</strong> From a recruiting standpoint, he is the undisputed top Class of 2022 wide receiver prospect in the state of Maryland. His offer list of 20-plus schools includes South Carolina, Arkansas, Auburn, Boston College, Buffalo, Cincinnati, Duke, Penn State, Maryland, Liberty, and Vanderbilt. Kikwata and his high school teammates only played one game during the spring. &nbsp;
