Central’s rushing attack was in full effect. Their defense maintained to keep a goose egg throughout the whole game. Here are some players that performed at a high level during the game.
RB Jamarion Price Jamarion Price 5'5" | 180 lbs | RB Hazelwood Central | 2022 MO , c/o 22. Price has been a highly consistent running back this spring. He was able to maneuver through traffic and run hard all over the field. Price ran for 52 yards and two touchdowns.
RB Lionel Banks c/o 22. Along with Price, Banks was just as dangerous. Banks has great balance while running the ball. He is very difficult to take down and bulldozes his way past defenders. Banks rushed for 92 yards and one touchdown.
WR Armani Turner c/o 22. What else is there to say about this kid? He has performed at an extremely high level this spring. Turner ended his junior season with a spectacular one handed catch that led to a touchdown. He also scored on a 23 yard jet sweep. Turner is one player to look out for next fall.
DB Matthew Logan c/o 22. Logan showed up big time on defense. He was very physical and had great pursuit to the ball. Logan contributed to Central’s dominating defense by picking off a pass and returning it for 38 yards.
DL/OL Kenneth Harper c/o 22. Harper was all over the field. He contributed a lot on both sides of the ball, whether it was making tackles on defense or blocking on the offensive line. Harper showed brute strength when blocking on offense. On defense he contributed to stopping West’s running offense. Harper made a couple tackles in the backfield as well. He will be a dangerous weapon next year on both sides of the ball.
Hazelwood West
WR Romano Gines c/o 22. Although the Wildcats didn’t end their season how they wanted, Gines still went down swinging. He made some pretty good runs, putting his team in position to score. He’s a very fast and agile player who can make something out of nothing. Gines will be a player to look out for next season.
WR Shaun Blackmon c/o 22. Blackmon also fought hard all game. Just like Gines, he broke out a couple good runs that
put the offense in the red zone. Blackmon is also a player other teams need to keep an eye on next season.
