The Tight End market is always one that has plenty of suitors. The 2022 class for the State of Alabama is a strong one and will most definitely have in store plenty of college interest. Let’s take a look at some of the top talent that the position group has to offer.

The offer list and overall interest for the Birmingham area recruit is starting to take off. In the 6-5 range, Ray has value at TE as a pass catcher as well as hands on blocker. In addition, Ray shows grit with a hand in the dirt as well as a more traditional setup in the slot. Twitch off the line makes Ray a difficult matchup for linebackers and his size causes problems for smaller DB’s. Good understanding of coverage and overall route running ability. Ray knows "how" to get into pass catching opportunities. Good athletic ability with some straight line speed. Ray is a TE prospect that checks boxes in numerous phases and should see his recruitment continue to grow moving forward.

Size alone is capable of landing Murray on this list, as he is by far the tallest and longest player on this list. Well filled out frame with good change of direction skills off the snap. One on One matchup nightmare due to his length, especially in redzone situations. Good overall athletic ability that adds nicely to the physical makeup given. Straight line speed is impressive with ability to plant foot and cut as well. Potential to be a devastating blocker as he grows into his game. Fights thru contact both before the pass and after the ball gets to his hands. Extremely intriguing prospect that should have more recruiting buzz surrounding him at this time.
[player_tooltip player_id="128590" first="Quad" last="Harrison"] | John Carroll Catholic
Harrison caught 32 balls for nearly 500 yards and 10 TD’s in 2020 as one of the best overall redzone threats in the state. Prototypical TE frame is present with an opportunity to gain weight/muscle mass moving forward. Long striding glider with impressive speed which showcases immediate burst. Harrison runs like a typical wide out but with a TE body build, which causes apparent matchup issues in the backend of defenses. Route running needs to mature and materialize as a more dangerous weapon, but Harrison is winning due to size and athletic ability alone against smaller competition currently. Expect to see Quad dominate competition in 2021 and start to receive plenty of D1 interest.
