Prospects from across the western region descended upon Las Vegas to attend the National Preps Showcase. Here's an in-depth look into the top performers from Arizona. Ryan Blum, OL, 2023, Basha Blum impressed coaches and scouts throughout the day during drill work and 1on1s. Strong and sturdy frame at 6’1” 280 lbs. he possesses good size to build on for an interior offensive lineman as he continues to develop and mature. Flashed his athleticism and mobility with quick feet and good bend/flexibility in the hips and ankles. He’s a violent finisher that displays brute strength and power at the POA. Shows he can get a good push off the LOS or anchor down and stop an oncoming rush. Love his balanced platform, quick hands, and leverage as a center. High ceiling with D1 talent and potential. High academic prospect. [player_tooltip player_id="42898" first="John" last="Butler"], LB, 2023, Saguaro Got his recruiting started with an offer from in-state Arizona in February and shouldn’t be long before more schools pull the trigger. He’s a downhill thumper with a good size/frame for a MLB at 6’2” 225 lbs. In addition to his power and strength at the contact point he’s a plus athlete that moves well in space and can quickly redirect to make a tackle. Flashes a great ability to break on the ball, close space, and accelerate through the ball carrier. Plays with good pad level and leverage. Can beat blockers by using his hands to shed or by running through them on his way to make a tackle. He’s a leader on defense with a lot to like at the college level. [player_tooltip player_id="42938" first="Wyatt" last="Milkovic"], LB, 2023, Basha Milkovic showed why he is one of the top LB prospects in the state. His versatility and athleticism was evident by his quick feet, COD, and short area burst. He’s a high effort playmaker that plays sideline to sideline flying around in pursuit. He’s patient with his reads with little wasted movement but is quick to diagnose and trigger. He’s a three down LB that can come downhill to fill gap, rush the passer on a blitz, or drop back in coverage and effectively play in space. Love his natural ability as a pass rusher where he can use his bend and quickness off the edge to beat a block and make a play on the QB, possesses a great dip move. One of the premier up and coming LB’s in the state he holds offers from New Mexico, NAU, Iowa State, and Colorado. [player_tooltip player_id="42844" first="Alexis" last="Sanchez"], OL, 2022, Mountain Ridge Massive frame at 6’3” 320 lbs. but balanced and well-built. Long arms, measured in with a 78 inch wingspan. Not bad feet and bend for his size flashed functional mobility in both drill work and 1on1s. He’s quick off the ball and snaps his hands into position ready to engage/punch. Punch is strong but also can physically overpower opponents with size and brute strength, many opponents end up driven off the ball or on their back. Great ability to latch on and sustain his blocks with active hands and lateral agility to match opponents movement. Good potential and upside as a D1 interior offensive lineman, one to keep an eye entering his senior season. Andy Sanchez, DL, 2022, Mountain Ridge Performed extremely well in the 1on1 portion of the showcase. He explodes off the ball with a quick first step. Showed good command of a variety of moves winning reps with different techniques. Quick and active hands, he efficiently uses them to knock down offensive lineman’s punch and to keep blockers off of him. Great push and penetration off the line using power and leverage. On film he shows good ability to shed blocks/disengage then pursue the ball carrier. Strong tackler that does a good job wrapping up and exploding through contact. Good size and a very solid all-around defensive football player. Jonathan Williams, LB, 2024, Mohave A very impressive 2024 athlete that is versatile and can play multiple positions at the college level depending on how he develops. He’s a natural football player with a great frame to build on at 6’0” 215 lbs. Worked with the LB group at the showcase but also plays QB and RB for his team. He’s a fluid athlete that flashed good speed, change-of-direction, and short area burst. He’s strong and possesses a good physical and competitive nature. Exciting young prospect that has potential to be special. Other Top Performances: Izaac Robles, WR, 2023, Mohave Darius Brown, DB, 2024, Heritage [player_tooltip player_id="115482" first="Jacob" last="Boice"], WR, 2024, River Valley Martreon Risper, RB, 2023, Heritage 2025 Prospects to Watch For: Thomas Doxtader, WR Reilly Feil, WR Brody Trujillo, WR Isac Urias, RB
