Here in Wisconsin we have several large cities that are home to multiple high schools each. Cities like Kenosha, Racine, Milwaukee, Madison, Brookfield, Wauwatosa, and Fon du Lac just to name a few. Among those teams are very talented players scattered between them. That got me and Oliver West thinking. What would it look like if these cities combined all their schools into one super team each? Today, that’s what I want to begin to dive into. This will be the first city in a series where we go city by city and create the best super team possible. To provide some guidelines, I will have each player playing in only one position. Even if they are dominant both ways I will them where I think they are best or where I think they will be able to help the Super Team the most. That means for each city Super Team we will end up with 11 offensive and 11 defensive starters. For each athlete I will give a quick reason why I chose them there/ give a quick breakdown of the player. Let’s get it started. Kenosha is home to several high end high school football programs that are full of some of the best talent that Wisconsin has to offer. The schools in the area include Indian Trail, Bradford, and Tremper. There are also a couple smaller schools in St. Joseph, and Christian Life. Now, let’s go through these rosters and see just how talented of a Super Team we can come out with! Quarterback (1) [player_tooltip player_id="30774" first="Argjent" last="Ismaili"], 2021- Indian Trail This was a little bit of a tough decision as Bradford’s 2022 QB Nate Olson was an intriguing option. However, I went with the senior and Division 1 commit. Ismaili has the size at 6’3’’ 195 lbs, and the overall arm talent to be able to maximize our very loaded WR group on this team and enough athleticism to be able to either buy time or pick up yards on the ground. Running Backs (2) [player_tooltip player_id="104372" first="Keany" last="Parks"], 2023- Bradford This might be cheating, but Keany is one of the most athletically gifted high school players in the state of Wisconsin. He has great acceleration and burst, and his vision with the ball in his hands is special. There is no doubt he would be on this team, and with the talent available at WR I felt it was best to utilize him in the backfield on this Super Team. [player_tooltip player_id="31176" first="Xavier" last="Goetzinger"], 2021- Tremper For our second RB spot we have an uncommitted senior. The 5’8" 185 lbs RB has a nice little blend of power to run between the tackles and athleticism to be able to jump cut to the outside and pick up yards. Xavier would be a really nice change of pace back on this team and make a dangerous pairing with Keany. Wide Receivers (2) Quinton Henry, 2022- Bradford There aren’t many options at WR better than Quinton in Wisconsin, so you better believe he comes into this Super Team as the WR1. He has a ton of what you are looking for in a Division 1 WR. He’s 6’1" 175 lbs, can absolutely fly, and has naturally soft hands. He’s also already in the possession of a Western Kentucky offer. The first of many. [player_tooltip player_id="30764" first="Raymone" last="Jones"], 2021- Indian Trail This is the first install of this series, but this has to be in talks for the best combination of receiving options. Raymone is going to bring the team great size at 6’2" 215 lbs. He has the frame to be able to create space just with that size, but then he also brings surprising play speed that can take the top off the defense. You can’t cover all of these options. Tight Ends (1) [player_tooltip player_id="30762" first="Kameron" last="Lee"], 2021- Indian Trail I might be cheating again here, but Kameron did spend some time lining up at TE this past fall, so I’m going to run with it and use that 6’3" 200 lbs frame. I’ve been a big fan of the Iowa Western CC commit. The senior knows how to use his body to create separation, and he has proven to be an effective blocker. I don’t see a future Super Team having the ability to cover all three of these receiving threats. Offensive Line (5) [player_tooltip player_id="30800" first="Jacob" last="Seeger"], 2021- Indian Trail One of the key factors of why I believe a Kenosha Super Team would be so difficult to beat is the potential offensive line they could assemble. We start it off with the 6’6’’ 260+ lbs Upper Iowa commit in [player_tooltip player_id="30800" first="Jacob" last="Seeger"]. He is going to be a powerful tone setter that will provide us with a reliable pass protector at OT and a strong run blocker. [player_tooltip player_id="30753" first="Riley" last="Kennow"], 2021- Indian Trail Right next to Seeger, we have his teammate at Indian Trail and Upper Iowa this fall. Kennow checks in at 6’5" 305 lbs and is going to provide us with a guard that will be able to maul interior defensive linemen and clear the way for our talented backfield. He’s also going to be difficult to get around in passing situations. That’s one side locked down. [player_tooltip player_id="118559" first="Doug" last="Arendt"], 2022- Tremper At center we go with 6’1" 295 lbs [player_tooltip player_id="118559" first="Doug" last="Arendt"]. An up and coming OC that would has the ability to continue what the first two lineman bring to the table. The ability to use that size and strength to really set the tone in the trenches. I’m excited to watch Arendt this fall. I think he is on the way towards developing into an intriguing 2022 lineman recruit. [player_tooltip player_id="31122" first="Wil" last="Sanders"], 2021- Tremper We continue pulling talent from Tremper HS with our next addition as we go with the 6’1" 250 lbs Benedictine University commit. Another bulldozing interior lineman that is going to bring the physicality that will be able to set the tone and control the trenches. Games are won and lost in the trenches, and with this group of five it won’t be easy to stop them from doing what the offense wants to do. Jared Grabot, 2022- Indian Trail We are going to have to do a little shuffling around to find the best starting lineup here on the offensive line as we have 1 OC, 1 OT, and 3 OGs, but with the athletic big men that we have I don’t think we will have an issue figuring that out. Grabot only played in two games last year, but I like what I saw. The 6’2" 270 lbs lineman has a solid combo of strength and athleticism. He can effectively pull and hit his target just as well as he can set a strong anchor or drive linemen off the ball. He is going to be a kid to keep an eye on in the fall. Defensive Line (4) [player_tooltip player_id="118319" first="Paris" last="Roby"], 2022- Bradford Paris is going to be a force in the middle of the defensive line. The 6’3" 300 lbs DT is going to be able to dominate his gap and eat up blocks to keep our talented LB corp clean. Roby is another player that I almost put in another position as he would of also been a great member of the OL, but I really like his potential at DT. So, that’s where he slots into this Super Team. [player_tooltip player_id="118548" first="Tyrail" last="Beverly"], 2022- Indian Trail Tyrail first caught my attention early last fall and I have enjoyed watching him since. His play on the field makes him an easy addition as a DE for our Kenosha Super Team. He isn’t the biggest kid at 5’11" 205 lbs, but his blend of initial burst and surprisingly strength has made him an effect edge defender. He can quickly defeat blocks and get into the backfield and has the athleticism to really wreck havoc when he gets back there. [player_tooltip player_id="118410" first="Jared" last="Barden"], 2022- Bradford Jared is a kid on this list that I will have a close eye on this fall. He is actually an effective two way player as a TE and DL. Jared is currently at 6’2" 200 lbs with sufficient speed for the TE position and DL position. I am a fan of how Barden was used all along the defensive line and was successful in each spot. That’s going to be an important trait as we build the best possible lineup for this team. Jordan Rudden, 2022- Bradford I wanted to wrap up this position with the addition of some more size that also offered position versatility. That led me to Jordan Rudden. He checks in at 6’3" 240 lbs and has shown success of lining up all along the defensive line. For our Super Team he would be utilized on the inside more often than not, and I think he could thrive in there. Especially alongside another big dominating presence like Paris. As you can see, 3/4 of this group is made up of Bradford juniors. If you are in need of DL help then make sure you check in there! Linebackers (3) [player_tooltip player_id="30767" first="Brock" last="Lampe"], 2021- Bradford I almost used Lampe as our second RB on this Super Team because he dominated as the FB for Kenosha Bradford, but he’s the best LB in Kenosha. The 6’1" 225 lbs LB does a great job in the middle of the defense picking through the trash and flying downhill to stuff the run. He packs a serious punch in his tackles, and he has the range to play from sideline to sideline. Can’t ask for a better leader in the middle of this defense. [player_tooltip player_id="31073" first="Dylan" last="Connell"], 2021- Indian Trail Our next LB is a 5’10" 200 lbs UW- La Crosse commit. Connell spent his senior season proving that he is one of the top LBs in Kenosha and his film shows him as an effective run stuffer and a reliable tackler. If a team wants to slow down this Super Team they are going to have to run the ball. To counter that I need dudes in the middle of our defense that can shut it down. [player_tooltip player_id="94733" first="Jaree" last="Jones"], 2021- Bradford Jaree is going to bring some speed to the LB room. The 5’11" 200 lbs sideline to sideline playmaker will be able to fly around and make plays on the edges while still being able to handle playing in the box. Jaree is a bit of a tweener between a safety and LB and could be a fun chess piece for a college program. From what I have gathered he is still available. Definitely a kid to check out. Cornerbacks (2) [player_tooltip player_id="118328" first="Christian" last="Crump"], 2022- Bradford Christian made his largest impact this season on offense, but with the receiver talent we already had on the team I had to go with his next best position. I couldn’t go through this exercise and not include one of the top athletes just because his primary position was filled. So, Christian steps in at one of our CB positions. His play speed, quick twitch, and reactive athleticism are going to be key in locking down any receivers that tried to challenge this Super Team. [player_tooltip player_id="94714" first="Tavion" last="Crump"], 2021- Bradford Our other corner is Northern State commit Tavy Crump. The 6’ 180 lbs CB ensures us that we will have two CBs on the field that can shut down any WR we might have to face in Wisconsin. Tavy is so smooth in coverage. He can flip his hips effortlessly and he has the ball skills to create turnovers. He knows how to go up and get it and his reactive athleticism in man coverage allows him to be glued to the receiver throughout the route. Safeties (2) [player_tooltip player_id="31333" first="Stefon" last="Mitchell"], 2022- Indian Trail If a receiver was able to make the catch on our two CBs then they have Stefon to worry about. They have to have it in the back of their mind that he is always in position to pop them and separate them from the football. I’m a big fan of Stefon’s versatility too. He had provide those big hits and play downhill against the run, but he can also drop down and cover the slot and read and react from his deep safety position quickly. He is a well rounded safety prospect. [player_tooltip player_id="30737" first="Clayton" last="Bishop"], 2021- Indian Trail I may be bending the rules here again because Clayton spent his time as a CB, but you’re crazy if you think I’m not going to find a spot for the best DB in Kenosha and potentially the state. The North Dakota commit can do whatever we need with ease. He has the obviously special cover skills to be able to play man on any WR and he has the play speed to have sideline to sideline range. Having him deep and just reading and reacting is borderline unfair. These four DBs would make the ultimate No Fly Zone.
