All of these guys have showed up and stepped up to produce during this spring COVID season, and show no signs of slowing down. All of which are projected to be top recruits in the upcoming future. Here is a look at 10 freshman who have been putting up strong numbers or pulling in offers:
Elijah Brown, QB, 6’2″ 180lbs, Mater Dei HS: Brown is coming off the biggest game of his young career on a 34-17 win against St. John Bosco. He threw for 202 yards and 4 TD’s to continue to prove that he is the real deal. He holds a high ceiling and projects to be a big time national recruit in the near future.
Peyton Woodyard Peyton Woodyard 6'2" | 195 lbs | DB St. John Bosco | 2024 State CA , DB, 6’1″ 185lbs, St. John Bosco HS: Woodyard has shown loose hips with an excellent change of direction. He’s a speedy DB that has to be an identified threat every week. Massive potential and already holds around 10 offers.
Chance Harrison, DB/WR, 6’1″ 160lbs, Rio Mesa HS: The Rio Mesa freshman has been a ball hawk this season with 4 INT’s in 5 games played while also adding 12 tackles. He can contribute as a WR as well as he’s racked up 133 yards receiving throughout the year. Solid athlete all around and will continue to impress throughout his career.
Dylan Riley, RB, 5’11″ 170lbs, Valley View HS: Riley has been a big time threat on the ground as he’s ran for 849 yards and 5 TD’s in just 5 games played. If he continues on the same trajectory, he will be a very promising prospect to follow in the upcoming years.
Ruben Gamboa, DB, 5’11″ 175lbs, Chaminade HS: Gamboa has racked up 50 tackles and displays solid closing speed all around. He’s a very versatile kid as he can play DB, LB, and has even showed the ability to man up on receivers. Excellent athleticism all across the board and should definitely be a name to know.=
Maealiuaki Smith Maealiuaki Smith 6'4" | 190 lbs | QB Serra | 2024 State CA , QB, 6’3″ 190lbs, Inderkum HS: Smith has been a big time gunslinger by throwing for 811 yards and 6 TD’s. He’ll have to limit his mistakes, but will continue to mature into a big time QB. He holds offers from Florida State, San Jose State, and UNLV.
Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa 6'3" | 225 lbs | LB St. John Bosco | 2024 State CA , LB/SS, 6’2″ 200lbs, St. John Bosco HS: Viliamu-Asa sizes up with an excellent frame with functional strength. He shows slid physicality and is a good striker as a tackler. Very athletic kid as he’s shown the ability to man up and lock opponents down in coverage. He holds around 10 offers, included most recently USC, Auburn, and Ohio State. Definitely a national recruit to follow.
Marcelles Williams Marcelles Williams 6'0" | 185 lbs | DB St. John Bosco | 2024 State CA , ATH, 5’11″ 170lbs, St. John Bosco HS: Williams is yet another highly touted prospect at Bosco. He is a tremendous athlete all around with a high ceiling that can ball out on both sides of the ball if needed. He shows a good change of direction with a nice break on the ball, and solid body control all around. He also holds around 10 offers thus far and will continue to see them pour in.
Terrell Bradshaw Terrell Bradshaw 5'9" | 175 lbs | WR Inglewood | 2024 State CA , ATH, 5’9″ 175lbs, St. Bernard HS: Bradshaw holds offers from Arizona State, Washington State, Maryland, Hawaii, and Florida International. He’s a twitchy route runner from the slot and a big play threat with the ball. Solid speed all around with the ability to make people miss in space and will be fun to follow.
Jordan Ross, WR/DB, 6’0″ 175lbs, Pacifica HS: Ross is a standout 2-way player and a big threat with the ball. He’s racked up 292 yards receiving and 4 TD’s in 4 games played, and also had a pick six a few days ago. Very talented athlete all around, as he definitely needs to be on your radar ASAP.
