Continue ReadingEvery day we get sent tons of film to Prepredzone and myself. I consider myself a true professional and believe that everyone deserves a response. So sometimes, athletes, parents, and high school coaches reach out and share film with me. Now for whatever reason. Some of these athletes don’t have the spotlight that they deserve but are terrific players on the field. Here are a few guys you might know, you should know and that you will know for years to come. Enjoy and we appreciate everyone that reaches out to myself and our staff here at Prepredzone. We do our best to cover as many players as possible, however, not everyone is selected.
Devin Green (24) | 5-10 OLB | Timber Creek
Devin Green is a straight beast on the field. He’s an animal at the middle linebacker position. He plays so impressively well for being only a freshman last year. He fills his gaps, stops the running game, and can fly into the backfield with his amazing speed and agility. Covers the pass just as well too, and can make big plays happen with his amazing pursuit and ability to read plays. I think he will be one of the top class of 2024 prospects coming out of Texas and will be high on our rankings.
Wesley Smith (22) | 6-0 MLB | Midland Lee
Wow, when I saw Wesley’s tape. I saw a leader at the middle linebacker position who can produce a high amount of tackles and tackles for losses. I like his build. Tall, athletic-looking with a long wingspan. He can read the QBs eyes and cover the entire field with his amazing speed. I liked his ability to bring the wood to blockers and get to the ball carrier. He showed great form tackling and a strong lower body to drive opponents to the ground.
Ramir McCray Ramir McCray 5'10" | 195 lbs | LB Klein Oak | 2022 State TX (22) | 5-11 LB | Klein Cain
I cannot say enough about Ramir. His ability is second to none. Right up there with the guys with stars by their names. The only knock in him is his size. But don’t let that fool you. This guy can play. Terrific edge rusher and can cover the pass terrifically. I like him a lot. Should prove to be special in college.
Film Review: offensive & defensive line prospects
Starting off with the big guys up front! Then I will be working my way through different positions the rest of the week. Some great players here and coming up!@PrepRedzoneTX @PrepRedzoneLA @PrepRedzoneARhttps://t.co/ZmVDoKNpSO pic.twitter.com/rAk1T5Wcab

Ty Berry (22) | 6-0 DB | Klein Collins
Ty is a very great cover corner. Plays against though competition and is a battle-tested week in and week out. I really like his ability to play zone coverage and still be able to come down and make some pretty impressive open-field tackles. Not very physical at the line of scrimmage but he can trail and hang with the best of guys and make a play in the ball.

Elijah Jackson (24) | 6-1 OLB/DE | Archer City
Elijah has a dangerous burst of the line of scrimmage, and he can be in the backfield in a hurry. Shows tremendous speed and agility. Great size already for being so young. I liked his ability to cover the entire field in passing situations and his ability to get after the quarterback. FBS level of a prospect with a high level of potential.

Malachi Calhoun (22) | 6-4 DB | Newman Smith
Malachi blew my mind how such a talented DB could go under the radar. I mean c’mon you got a player who can play multiple positions on defense and be utilized in many different ways. He can be brought down to play in the box and play against the run or he can drop back and cover the pass. Either way, this guy can make plays. Terrific height at 6-4, has more to grow in mass in college. Plenty of room for potential for this prospect here.
Austin Lowe (23) | 5-10 DB | Midlothian
Very physical corner and at the line of scrimmage. I loved his ability to play press coverage. As soon as the receiver would take off, Austin was stuck on them like glue. Great ability to trail a receiver and showed really great technique disrupting routes and passes.

Kai Rigdon Kai Rigdon 6'2" | 230 lbs | DL Ferris | 2024 TX (24) | 6-1 OLB | Burleson
Another linebacker that should prove to be a highly rated FBS prospect. Kai is a beast coming off the edge and I like his ability to get to the quarterback. He can stand up or put his hand in the ground. Makes a lot of plays because of his size and athleticism. I really like this young guy a lot. Glad to have found his tape. Should be special for years to come.

Jonathan Clark Jonathan Clark 6'1" | 200 lbs | DB Vista Ridge | 2022 State TX (22) | 6-1 DB | Vista Ridge
Well first off, tremendous size here for a DB. Very versatile as a player. He can be used to come down and be in the box and make some plays covering the run or pass. Also can be used on special teams. Has impressive speed and agility. Can get upfield in a hurry. I like his ability to make a lot of pass break-ups and plays all over the field.
Qwincy Amos (23) | 5-9 DB | Warren
Qwincy can play both sides of the ball at receiver and defensive back. I like his speed and vertical ability a lot. I think he should be able to put out some nice Varsity tape this coming up season. I like him best at DB. Shows he can play the pass very well. He also shows his vertical ability makes up for his lack of height you’d normally like to see at that position.
Thank you for reading. Stay tuned this week as we still have wide receivers, quarterbacks, and running backs to feature. You may reach out to us on Twitter @PrepredzoneTX and myself the author @LoboRecruits or email emmanuel@prepredzone.com. We’d love to hear your feedback!
