1. Jaden Greathouse Jaden Greathouse 6'2" | 210 lbs | WR Austin Westlake | 2023 State TX – Westlake High School (Austin, TX)
One of the best wide receivers overall to come out of last year, Greathouse had 1,145 yards last season along with 13 touchdowns. He played for an elite Westlake squad led by junior quarterback Cade Klubnik Cade Klubnik 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Austin Westlake | 2022 State TX and the duo will once again wreak havoc on Central Texas next year. Considering the chemistry between the two will just continue to thrive, there is much potential for Greathouse even after Klubnik graduates.
2. Riley Pechacek – Boerne High School (Boerne, TX)
Another great receiver, this time out of the San Antonio area, is Pechacek, who had 838 yards and nine touchdowns last season. His best game was arguably against Fredericksburg when he had eight receptions for 76 yards and two touchdowns. Although that game was a loss for Boerne, he still came away with a great performance and Boerne only lost one by one point. Another great performance was against Uvalde when he had six receptions for 155 yards and one touchdown. Now becoming a junior, there is high expectations for Pechacek to continue to be a leader amongst the receiving core for Boerne.
3. Ethan McAlister – Johnson High School (Buda, TX)
From what has been reported on MaxPreps, McAlister has shown great potential out of Buda. He had 574 yards and seven touchdowns which includes when he had eight receptions for 184 yards and three touchdowns in a win against Lehman. Considering there are probably missing games from the stat sheet, he likely has more games where he lit up the secondary. Entering the next season as a junior, McAlister has some great potential.
4. Sam Armstrong – Geneva High School (Boerne, TX)
Although the top receiver for Geneva was senior Jackson Young, Armstrong was next in line with 534 yards and five touchdowns. The best performance for him was against St. Joseph Academy when he had seven receptions for 144 yards and one touchdown. Considering the amount he learned from Young, and the amount of time he has left with Geneva, Armstrong has the potential to be an electric receiver.
5. Rett Andersen – Alamo Heights High School (San Antonio, TX)
Although a defensive team as compared to most schools today, Anderson had a great sophomore season with 506 yards and five touchdowns. A key performance came against Johnson when he had six receptions for 97 yards and two touchdowns. Although a trend such as being defensive-heavy will likely continue for Alamo Heights, there is still that potential for Andersen to shine, especially when it matters most in close contests. Keep an eye out for him.
