Prep Redzone looks at the current prospect rankings for New Jersey’s 2022 recruiting class. New Jersey was one state that could play some games last fall during the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on some research, I believe you’ll see some changes after the next rankings update by Prep Redzone. For now, let’s look at where things stand in the 2022 New Jersey Football Prospect Rankings.
Today we look at New Jersey’s Top 2022 prospects from No. 25 to No. 16.
<strong>No. 25 [player_tooltip player_id="27983" first="Q’yaeir" last="Price"] Ι 6-3 Ι 245 |Defensive Lineman Ι DePaul Catholic</strong>
Price is projected to be a strong-side defensive end at the next level. He has over a dozen offers that include Rutgers, Boston College, Pitt, Indiana, and Maryland.
<strong>No. 24 [player_tooltip player_id="27982" first="Vince" last="Carpenter"] Ι 6-6 Ι 275| Offensive Lineman Ι Red Bank Catholic</strong>
Carpenter is getting a mix of FBS and FCS schools showing serious interest in him. His offer list includes Kentucky, Houston, UConn, and East Carolina.
<strong>No. 23 [player_tooltip player_id="27981" first="Nazir" last="Dale"] Ι 5-9 Ι 170| Athlete Ι Camden</strong>
Dale carried the football 79 times for 245 yards and four touchdowns in the five games he played in last season. He is being recruited as an athlete. Temple and West Virginia have both offered him.
<strong>No. 22 [player_tooltip player_id="27980" first="Davison" last="Igbinosun"] Ι 6-3 Ι 185 | Defensive Back Ι Union</strong>
Igbinosun is likely to be rated much higher after the next ratings update. He made 71 total tackles and caught two interceptions in the seven games he played in last season. Rutgers, Pitt, Notre Dame, and Cincinnati are among the schools fighting for Igbinosun’s commitment.
<strong>No. 21 [player_tooltip player_id="27979" first="Denis" last="Jaquez"] Ι 6-3 Ι 225| Defensive Lineman Ι St. Augustine</strong>
Jaquez was good for 25 total tackles and two sacks last season. Boston College, Rutgers, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, and Buffalo are among his 15-plus offers.
<strong>No. 20 [player_tooltip player_id="27978" first="LeQuint" last="Allen"] Ι 6-0 Ι 180 | Running Back Ι Millville</strong>
Allen showed a little bit of his ability to both run and catch the football last season. He carried the football 107 times for 471 yards and touchdowns and caught 15 passes for 136 yards and one touchdown last season. Allen committed to Syracuse on Mar. 5.
<strong>No. 19 [player_tooltip player_id="27977" first="Jihaad" last="Campbell"] Ι 6-3 Ι Defensive Lineman Ι Timber Creek (N/A - Now plays for IMG ACADEMY IN FLORIDA)</strong>
<strong>No. 18 [player_tooltip player_id="27976" first="Nasir" last="Hill"] Ι 6-1 Ι 190 | Athlete Ι St. Augustine</strong>
Hill made noticeable contributions on both the offensive and defensive side of the football. He made 22 total tackles and intercepted three passes on defense. Hill caught 18 passes for 318 yards and four touchdowns on offense. Yale, UMass, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, and Temple have all offered Hall.
<strong>No. 17 [player_tooltip player_id="27975" first="Nicholas" last="Alvarado"] Ι 6-0 Ι 190| Defensive Back Ι Don Bosco</strong>
Alavarado, a safety prospect, has 10-plus offers that include Boston College, Pitt, Virginia Tech, Akron, Buffalo, and Temple. Surprisingly, the hard-hitting Alavarado doesn’t have an offer from Rutgers.
<strong>No. 16 [player_tooltip player_id="27974" first="Justin" last="Evans-Jenkins"] Ι 6-2 Ι 270 | Defensive Lineman Ι Irvington</strong>
Evans-Jenkins has cut his list of schools down to Virginia, Kentucky, West Virginia, Duke, Wake Forest, and Penn State. Penn State has yet to offer Evans-Jenkins.
