Even though it was a limited high school season in 2020, there were plenty of under the radar wide-outs who had big senior seasons this past fall. Some of the state’s leading receivers from last year were unknown prospects who deserve recognition after extremely productive seasons.
Here were a few of the state’s most productive receivers from the past season
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="33785" first="Adriel" last="Clark"] - Rabun County</strong>
A big target at 6-foot-4 195-pounds, Clark had an incredibly productive season as the go-to receiver for 5-star QB [player_tooltip player_id="33862" first="Gunner" last="Stockton"]. Clark is a great route-runner, has impressive length, and runs like a deer. He picks up yards in a hurry once he gets going and was a reliable option all season. Clark has a knack for finding his way around defenses and has the speed to get behind the secondary. He was an important red-zone threat for the Wildcats and was a touchdown-machine as a senior. Clark caught an impressive 73 passes for 1,558 yards and found the end-zone 28 times, which led the state. Clark had one of the best seasons for any offensive player across the state last fall.
<strong>Myles Redding - Whitefield Academy</strong>
In West Atlanta is where you’ll find one of the most productive receivers in the state. The 6-foot-1 175-pound ATH makes plays on both sides of the ball, but really shined this past fall at receiver. Redding has a great frame and is a fluid route runner than led to him catching 63 passes last year for 1,113 yards and 7 TDs. He was a big play waiting to happen with his speed and big-play ability. He was one of the top playmakers in all of Atlanta last year and one of the best senior athletes in the entire region.
<strong>Mitch Thompson - South Forsyth</strong>
A breakout star in Forsyth County this past year was War Eagles senior, Mitch Thompson. A freak athletically who can jump out of the building, Thompson is a quick, shifty playmaker who can stop on a dime and make defenders miss with ease. Thompson was to go-to guy for South Forsyth junior QB Kyle Durham and the two connected often in 2020. Thompson ended his senior season with 38 catches for 946 yards and 9 touchdowns.
<strong>Jairus Mack - Clarke Central </strong>
The Athens area playmaker had a big season for Clarke Central and showed big-play ability all season. The shifty 5-foot-11 175-pounder showed great hands and the athletic ability to create space and make plays after the catch. He’s a good route runner and made play after play each and every game. An impressive point guard on the basketball team, Mack is a true athlete who caught 36 passes for 869 yards and 8 total TDs last season as a senior.
