Despite National Signing Day being over, there are still some talented RB's that show potential for the next level that remain unsigned. It's tough for these guys with the season consistently up in the air, but they definitely deserve a look. Here are 5 RB's who remain unsigned:
[player_tooltip player_id="28754" first="Devin" last="Bradd"], 5’10" 210lbs, North Medford HS
Bradd put on weight since last season, and already proved to be one of the most physical, dominant RB’s in the state. He possesses excellent physicality with good balance, frequently running through defenders or bouncing off them to spring loose in the second level. He finishes runs and will consistently fight for extra yards. He accelerates nicely through opening lanes and displays enough speed to stretch the edges. He has shown a solid change or direction and lateral mobility in both tight spaces and the open field, and does an excellent job of utilizing both physicality and elusiveness. He is a mean, angry runner with a tremendous upside.
[player_tooltip player_id="28757" first="Miles" last="Wilson"], RB, 5’10" 195bs, Reynolds HS
Wilson is a slightly similar style to [player_tooltip player_id="28754" first="Devin" last="Bradd"]. He possesses a muscular, athletic frame and can wear down a defense. He’s shown solid physicality and showed the ability to bounce off even the hardest hits and spring loose or pick up extra chunks of yards. He shows enough speed for big play ability, and can be fed the rock 25 times a game. He’s shown solid lateral bounce to make people miss in the open field, and was effective in the screen game as well. He’s a willing blocker with a big striking ability to punish opponents.
Blake Wolters, 5’8" 185lbs, Heppner HS
Wolters is a north-south type back that can wear down a defense. He shows solid vision with a low pad level through the hole, and can slip through even the smallest lanes. Despite his size, Wolters displays solid physicality overall and is a bruiser to bring down. He has a strong lower half with excellent balance, frequently bouncing off opponents and springing him into the second level. He has good short area quickness and showed solid flashes of breaking outside runs for big gains, but did his best work between the tackles.
[player_tooltip player_id="28763" first="Clay" last="Peden"], 6’1" 165lbs, Sherwood HS
Peden has room to put on weight, but has shown legit big play ability. Sherwood runs the "Wing-T" therefore his opportunities weren’t exactly a workhorse load, yet he averaged over 8 yards per carry and was highly productive. He shows good vision and does a good job directing and riding his blockers. He’s flashed a good change of direction in open field and possesses solid second level speed, and can stick his foot in the ground and accelerate nicely through an opening lane. He can catch the ball out of the backfield as well, and projects to have a huge senior season.
Luke Roberts, 6’2″ 200lbs, Mountain View HS
Roberts is a wild card, in the sense that you never know what position he will end up at. As a RB, Roberts shows good vision and solid physicality. He finishes runs and punishes his opponents. He is more of a north-south type back, but has shown to be effective while stretching the edge at the high school level. He has shown flashes of solid lateral bounce to cut and change direction without decelerating. He is a very good football player all around, and shows promise to develop into a solid power back.
