On Sunday, February 21st I went to Throw It Deep’s morning session to get to see their athletes first-hand. In today’s article, we will be taking a look at the high school athletes that caught my eye.
21’s [player_tooltip player_id="20217" first="Justin" last="Lynch"] 21’ QB 6’1 210 Mt. Carmel Twitter Highlights Lynch is committed to Temple and it's no surprise why just take a look at his highlights. He escapes the pressure making the throw downfield, can put zip on the ball, and can throw on the run. He makes level 1, 2, & 3 throws putting the ball in the wr's basket, can get the ball out fast, and has a touch on the deep ball floating it into the wr's hands. Lynch looks to finish out his high school career strong before taking his talents to play at Temple where his future is bright. Padraig Fitzgerald 21’ QB 6’2 195 Marmion Academy Twitter Highlights Fitzgerald is committed to Illinois Wesleyan and his film proves why. He has a touch on the deep ball, evades pressure, and can put zip on the ball. He can throw on the run putting the ball in the wr's basket, can get the ball out fast, and is mobile. Fitzgerald continues to come to Throw It Deep to hone his craft as the spring season comes closer and to prepare him for his collegiate career. https://twitter.com/Jamaskane/status/1364763043838779397?s=20 Mike Bojesen 21’ QB 6’0 190 Wilmot Union Twitter Highlights Bojesen is committed to Carthage, he evades pressure getting the ball downfield to his receivers, has a touch on the ball, and can throw on the run. He can put zip on the ball, pull the ball down to scramble, and read blocks when he's doing so. Bojesen gets it done in both the passing and running attack, he finished his high school career at Wilmot Union and is preparing for his collegiate career. https://twitter.com/Jamaskane/status/1364759381284450307?s=20 Brendan Keane 21’ QB 6’4 205 Reavis Twitter Highlights Keane is uncommitted at the moment, he's weighing his options and hopes to get a PWO/Walk-on to Eastern Illinois University. He makes level three throws, has a touch on the deep ball, and puts the ball in the wr's basket. He can put zip on the ball, has fluid arm motion, and has arm strength which is all showcased in his highlights. Keane looks to finish out his high school career this spring https://twitter.com/Jamaskane/status/1364765540363997193?s=20 Jacob Huber 21’ QB 6’1 201 Richmond Burton Twitter Highlights Huber is uncommitted, he's weighing his options and wants to go to a school with a good engineering program. He can throw on the run, put the ball in the wr's basket, and has a touch on the deep ball. He has a fluid arm motion where he gets the ball out fast and can put zip on the ball if need be. He gets the ball off under pressure and sets his feet before throwing. Huber is coming off of a stellar season where he helped Richmond Burton win the state title. 22’s [player_tooltip player_id="65705" first="Jack" last="Lausch"] 22’ QB 6’3 195 Brother Rice Twitter Highlights Lausch only played 4 games at QB last season for Brother Rice, those four games being at the end of the season at that. He showcases his skills by running the read-option, getting the ball out fast, and being able to throw on the run. He's shifty/elusive when he's running and has his footwork/passing mechanics in check. Lausch has developed since last season at QB and he looks to build upon his performance this spring. https://twitter.com/Jamaskane/status/1364763684564787206?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="66108" first="David" last="Dorn"] 22’ QB 5’11 180 Wheaton Academy Twitter Highlights Dorn is another young QB that started on Varsity last season, he gets the ball out fast, delivers the ball under pressure, and has a touch on the deep ball. He's able to throw on the run putting the ball in the wr's basket and can make level three throws. He runs the read-option where his quickness/speed comes into play and can extend plays by making something out of nothing. Dorn is going to be a name to know as he continues to hone his craft and develop further. Charlie Schult 22’ WR 6’0 170 Glenbard North Twitter Highlights Schult is quick off LOS where he's able to stack defenders & makes the contested catch. He's developed since last season and has untapped potential yet to flourish. Below is Charlie Schult making a GREAT catch at Sunday's session. https://twitter.com/Jamaskane/status/1364772175455092737?s=20 23’s [player_tooltip player_id="31393" first="Jerry" last="Kaminski"] 23’ QB 6’2 190 Sun Prarie Twitter Highlights Kaminski has been working on his fundamentals and honing his craft. He has untapped potential still to rise to the surface, keep an eye on his development over these next few years as he'll be a name to know for Sun Prarie. https://twitter.com/Jamaskane/status/1364767139090100224?s=20 Ben Monahan 23’ QB 6’2 190 Hinsdale Central Twitter Highlights Monahan is not a new name to know, he's been showing out over these past few months by going to Throw It Deep and winning "Best QB" at Boom's Best of the Best Showcase a few months ago (for the first group). He's talented and with more film will gain more attention in his recruiting process. https://twitter.com/Jamaskane/status/1364760849378922496?s=20 Jake Hoeppel 23’ QB 6’0 185 Bennet Academy Twitter Highlights Hoeppel is apart of a talented team that has weapons on both sides of the ball. He has untapped potential that with further development will come to flourish. He's going to be a name that pops up on coaches' radars in the next few seasons. https://twitter.com/Jamaskane/status/1364764578798780416?s=20 Cruz Ibarra 23’ QB Oswego Twitter Highlights Ibarra is a name not known to many, he's going to turn heads this season with his throwing ability. Give him a few season's and he can be a premier QB to watch in his conference. https://twitter.com/Jamaskane/status/1364762078536474632?s=20 Jimmy Mejia 23’ 23 5’7 130 Hinsdale Central Twitter Highlights Mejia can create separation on his routes and layout for catches which for a 23' is something to be in awe of. He's going to be a name that comes to the surface as he builds upon the QB-WR connection with Ben Monahan. Below is Jimmy Mejia making a GREAT sideline catch. https://twitter.com/Jamaskane/status/1364756651866271745?s=20 Notables: Danny Chung 22’ QB 6’2 Marmion Academy 170 Twitter Highlights Jovan Butts 22’ QB 5’9 160 Morton West Twitter Highlights Jayshon Lemon 22’ WR 6’0 175 Morton West Twitter Highlights TJ Sloan 22’ QB 5’11 175 Riverside Brookfield Twitter Highlights Jacob Donohue 23’ QB 5’11 170 Grayslake Twitter Highlights Max Benner 23’ QB 6’0 160 Harry D Jacobs Twitter Highlights Matt Vezza 23’ QB 5’10 165 York Twitter Highlights Michael Prokos 24’ WR 5’11 160 Crystal Lake Twitter Caden Casamino 24’ QB Twitter Gabe Cherwin 24’ QB Twitter Jason Penza 24’ QB Donovan Anderson 24’ WR Ethan Plumb 25’ QB 6’3 185 Twitter Highlights
