Ranking the top eight offensive linemen in the 2022 class was extremely hard. The Midwest is loaded with talented linemen that have size, quickness, and the toughness to excel at the collegiate level. Their skill level denotes the quality of coaching they are receiving at the high school level. These top eight are exceptional but there are a number of others close behind.

[player_tooltip player_id="97799" first="Kiyaunta" last="Goodwin"] 6’8” 305 OT Charlestown, Indiana

This massive offensive tackle has all the tools to excel at the D1 collegiate level. He is a dominating run blocker who can execute all the necessary techniques in terms of drive block, reach block, and the ability to pull and lead to the outside. As a pass protector there is no high school tackle more impressive than Goodwin. He gets into his pass set quickly and has a devastating first strike with his hands. Goodwin is extremely mobile and agile for such a big man. Currently, the Ohio State Buckeyes are in the lead for his talents.

[player_tooltip player_id="31198" first="Billy" last="Schrauth"] 6’5” 280 OG Fond du Lac, Wisconsin Mary’s

Schrauth is one of the most athletic offensive linemen in the 2022 class. He is a two-way lineman whose foot quickness is apparent when playing offensive guard or defensive tackle. On offense, Billy is fast out of his stance, instantly getting into the frame of the defender. He drives his legs on contact and finishes the play with the defender ending up on his back much of the time. Schrauth does a great job of working his hands as he drives his feet to control the opponent. Billy is leaning toward Notre Dame at this point in the recruiting process.

KaMarii Landers 6’4” 295 OT/OG Dearborn, Michigan Fordson

If its fourth and short, run the ball behind Landers. He is an eighteen-wheeler in cleats. Landers is a wide body who destroys the man across from him due to his strength and leg drive. He plays offensive tackle for his high school but has even lined up at center. I believe KaMarii will play offensive guard at the next level or right tackle where his power and size can be best utilized. It will be best for him to play out of a two-point stance at the D1 level in terms of pass protection. Landers is currently committed to play for Michigan State.

[player_tooltip player_id="31200" first="Joe" last="Brunner"] 6”6” 305 OT Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin

It’s easy to see why [player_tooltip player_id="31200" first="Joe" last="Brunner"] was the conference offensive lineman of the year as a sophomore. This offensive/defensive lineman is a real difference maker with cat-like quickness and change of direction. Brunner is impressive on the move when trapping and pulling. As an offensive tackle he handles movement and picks up line stunts as good as anybody in high school football. His athleticism and great hips should allow him to play early at the collegiate level. Joe will stay in-state upon graduation and play for the Wisconsin Badgers.

[player_tooltip player_id="34381" first="Blake" last="Miller"] 6”6” 310 OT Strongsville, Ohio

Miller is a very effective position run blocker who gets into the opposing defensive lineman, then resets his hands, drops his pad level, and drives his feet. Once he locks on, he does an excellent job of controlling the defender as he drives him off the line of scrimmage. Miller has the mobility to execute the cutoff block and get into the second and third levels to pick up linebackers and defensive backs. Miller is a sound pass protector that uses good technique in setting and stopping the charge of the pass rusher. He is currently committed to the Clemson Tigers.

[player_tooltip player_id="34373" first="Tegra" last="Tshabola"] 6’6” 315 OT/OG West Chester, Ohio Lakota West

If you want a human bulldozer at the point of attack, Tegra is the guy for you. Tshabola often engulfs his opponent, moves him off the line, and pancakes him to the ground. He brings a powerful first punch and many times takes the opposing lineman to the turf with his initial blow delivery. He can play any of the offensive line positions due to his ability to execute all the fundamentals necessary from base, cutoff, down, and reach blocks as well as those needed in combination and double team blocking. Tshabola is committed to sign with Ohio State in 2022.

`[player_tooltip player_id="18420" first="Lucas" last="Heyer"] 6’5” 300 OT/OG Maplewood, Minnesota Hills-Murray

Heyer has the ability to play either tackle or guard at the next level. He is an excellent technician in terms of hand placement and footwork. Heyer is quick out of his stance and moves the defender by maintain proper leverage. He can chip off to the next level and pick up linebackers in space. Heyer demonstrates his versatility as an offensive lineman by his pass protection fundamentals. He pass sets quickly and uses his long arms in controlling the pass rusher without giving ground or positioning. Minnesota currently has a slight recruiting edge for Heyer at this point.

[player_tooltip player_id="39041" first="Joey" last="Tanona"] 6’5” 275 OC Zionsville, Indiana

It is exciting to see a high school center with the athleticism and skill level that [player_tooltip player_id="39041" first="Joey" last="Tanona"] demonstrates. Middle guards who line up in a zero or one technique have no chance against Joey or they will get mauled. He snaps the football from shotgun formation with precision while taking an aggressive first step, to the right or left, without losing leverage or position on the defender. Joey can even reach a three-technique lined up on the offensive guard. He picks up movement and line stunts with ease. Tanona is committed to play for Notre Dame.
