We want to focus on players in York, Chester and Lancaster Counties in this series of stories who will be competing during the 2021 season. Some of them you may have already heard of in previous stories and others you may have not.
These are the players ranked 100-112:
York – RB Frank Thompson Frank Thompson 5'9" | 185 lbs | RB York | 2022 State SC
2019 Hudl highlight film (this prospect didn’t have a full dedicated 2020 highlight film)
Analysis: Thompson has a great combination of power and speed at the running back position. He can pick his way through the hole for the tough yards and if you’re coming up to make the tackle on him, watch out because he will run you over. He can turn on the burners once he finds the seam and take it the house.
Indian Land – LB Dumekle Idehen
*2020 Season Stats: 114 total tackles (24 TFLs), 4 sacks, 1 INT, 2 FFs
Analysis: Idehen is an explosive and aggressive linebacker who has the physical makeup for the position. He times the snaps perfectly, and that results in plenty of tackle for loss plays like we saw several times on his film. In many instances, the ball carrier wasn’t able to get going downhill. You also have to be careful trying to throw it out into space against this guy as he quickly recognizes it and affects the play for little to no gain. Idehen’s play in 2020 earned him the Defensive Player of the Year Award in the 4A classification voted on by coaches in the area. He is an excellent student with a 4.6 GPA.
Northwestern – WR Calique Cunningham Calique Cunningham 5'9" | 165 lbs | WR Northwestern | 2022 State SC
*2020 Season Stats: 11 receptions, 206 yards, 3 TDs
Analysis: Cunningham is a home run threat to score every time the ball is in his hands. He has great speed and can make catches in traffic, and has the ability to make guys miss in the slot position. What impressed us the most about him was his ability to block down field for other receivers. He blew a guy right up on a screen pass and he aggressively got a guy to the ground on another pass play. He’s a 3-sport athlete as well.
