Let’s take a look at four 2022 prospects to watch as we wrap up the first month of 2021. We’ll also take a look at a few notes on prospects who received offers or made commitments this week. Legion Collegiate Academy – WR Donaven Pittman Twitter: @DonavenPittman 2020 Hudl highlight film Analysis: Pittman is a dynamic, speedy receiver who can take the top off the defense if you don’t keep your eye on him every play. He can play in the slot or on the outside and he knows how to locate the ball at its highest point. He’s also effective in the jet sweep game and can outrun defenders and take it to the house in that fashion as well. He made one of the best hustle plays we've seen in evaluating prospects, running down a defensive back to prevent a pick-six. Indian Land – FS Drew Hardin Twitter: @drew_hardin13 2020 Hudl highlight film *2020 Season Stats: 52 tackles, 6 PBUs, 4 INTs, 1 FF (8 games) Analysis: Hardin is an instinctive free safety who does a great job of patrolling the middle of the field like a center fielder in baseball. His technique in breaking on the ball and getting in the passing lanes is impressive. He can really get up high in the air to make interceptions or knock the ball away in winning the one-on-one battles against receivers in coverage. That’s a credit to the fact he also plays basketball. He was an All-Conference safety and is an impressive student in the classroom with a 4.37 GPA. Buford – ATH Jamari Hough Twitter: @quavionn 2020 Hudl highlight film Analysis: The first thing that stood out to us in watching Hough’s film is that he is the most impressive receiver that blocks down field that we’ve seen in evaluating receivers. He’s got really good speed, as we saw on an interception where he was at defensive back. His ability to win the 50/50 ball against defensive backs is impressive and he can really make plays out in space as he plays the outside receiver position. Rock Hill – OL Jake Mozingo Twitter: @jake_mozingo 2020 Hudl highlight film Analysis: Mozingo is one of the more aggressive right tackles we’ve seen on film. He knows how to move people back at the snap of the ball, he’s got good movement with his feet and he’s not afraid to get his hands dirty. He’s also a guy who has a motor that’s running until the whistle blows and will hold his block well. He lets opposing defenders know he’s there to make an impact with an impressive shove. 2021 Clover WR Shamajay Poole committed to the University of Pikeville (Ky.) on Thursday afternoon.
2021 Northwestern DE/LB Kyle Springs-McCottry received his first offer from Beloit College (Wisc.) on Friday morning.
2021 York QB Weston Hance received an offer from Presbyterian College (S.C.) on Friday morning.
