Early signing days have already passed, however there are still talented wide receivers that haven’t committed to a school yet. These athletes are playmakers that can change the complexion of any offense at the Division 1 level. The wide receivers mentioned in this article may get discredited because of their height, but each player’s film proves their value. Here are the top uncommitted WR’s from the 2021 NC class:
[player_tooltip player_id="28576" first="Jacquon" last="Gibson"], WR, 5’10 and 184 lbs, Hough HS
Gibson is a shifty wide receiver that excels at gaining yards after the catch and making defenders miss. He has the ability to take short passes to the house because of his creative juke moves and overall speed. Jacquon has extremely strong hands and is elite at reading the field before finding the open space in the defense. He displays great effort by running downfield and delivering blocks for his teammates. Currently has only been offered by Campbell.
[player_tooltip player_id="28581" first="Kasheim" last="Teller"], WR, 5’11 and 170 lbs, Hoke County HS
Teller is a tough wide receiver that consistently breaks tackles and showcases incredible contact balance. He is best at adjusting his body to inaccurate throws and running routes over the middle of the field. Kasheim is able to create separation with sharp cuts and quickness on passing plays. He’s reliable and should be utilized on wide receiver screens in the future. One offer to this point.
[player_tooltip player_id="28586" first="Mikhail" last="Baldwin"], WR, 5’9 and 160 lbs, Vance HS
Baldwin is a slot wide receiver that specializes in shorter passes and routes. He is talented enough to break away from opponents with spin moves and elusiveness. Mikhail made excellent plays on deep balls that were underthrown by a few yards. He also is a great run blocker for his size and a dangerous kick returner. So far has been offered by one school.
[player_tooltip player_id="28613" first="Ian" last="Hutter"], WR, 5’11 and 185 lbs, Marvin Ridge HS
Hutter is a big play wide receiver that made numerous contested catches on 50/50 balls down the field. The first route he has the most success with is the wheel route because of his straight-line speed. The other efficient route is a post because of how crisp he is at the top of the break. Ian possesses impressive concentration on juggled receptions and catches while sliding to the ground. Doesn’t have any offers reported.
