Some of the state’s most talented RB’s still have open recruitment, and all of which are capable of producing very effectively at the next level. This RB class in Arizona is completely stacked, and they will definitely be a great addition to whichever program they end up with. Take a look at 7 electric RB’s with open recruitment: [player_tooltip player_id="42598" first="Eli" last="Sanders"], 6’0" 190lbs, Chandler HS Sanders is the best running back in Arizona, and is a promising power 5 talent. He decommitted from Boise State on December 27th, and is an RB that every school should want on their offense. He shows elite speed, vision, balance, and physicality. He explodes out of his cuts and hits top speed immediately, creating a large speed separation between opponents. Sanders can make defenders miss in open space, or utilize solid physicality to finish runs or break tackles. Sanders can run crisp routes out of the backfield and is a big mismatch against manned up LB’s, and can generate solid separation against DB’s as well, all while having reliable hands. He can be solid in pass protection as well, and is a complete back with the ability to excel in any offensive scheme. He currently holds notable offers from Iowa State, Iowa, Arizona State, Arizona, Boise State, San Diego State, Nevada, and numerous lower FBS offers. [player_tooltip player_id="42748" first="Max" last="Davis"], 5’11" 195lbs, Highland HS Davis is an explosive RB all around. He has excellent vision and does a good job bouncing runs outside to make plays out of nothing when plugged up at the LOS. Davis shows solid second level speed with a good separation against pursuing opponents. His athleticism is highly impressive. He’s shown the ability to hurdle, cut, or spin on a dime without losing balance or acceleration. Davis shows a very effective stutter-go movement and did a great job of making defenders miss in open space. He can fit into numerous offensive schemes and holds a very high ceiling. He currently holds an offer from Arizona Christian, and interest from Drake, and Southwest Minnesota State. I believe he could fit into numerous offensive schemes at the FCS level. [player_tooltip player_id="42625" first="Jared" last="Williams"], 5’11" 205lbs, Chaparral HS Williams shows a muscular, athletic build with solid athleticism and toughness. He has excellent vision and does a good job exploding laterally out of his cuts. He has shown good patience for blocks to develop, then accelerates well when he sees a hole or an open lane. Williams has displayed very good physicality and balance at the point of contact, which helps him break and bounce off tackles and pick up extra yards. He can be a solid pass protector as well, and has shown to be a very balanced RB in all dimensions of the game. Williams holds big potential and will only continue to get better. He currently holds offers from Northern Arizona, Minot State, and Ottawa (AZ). [player_tooltip player_id="42767" first="Rodney" last="Clemente"], 5’0" 180lbs, Hamilton HS Clemente was forced to sit out the first half of the season due to the transfer rule, but completely balled out as soon as he got his shot. He hits top speed immediately, and shows a large speed separation between pursuing opponents. He has shown solid acceleration through the hole and shows excellent fast twitch and lateral agility. He is explosive out of his cuts, with the ability to make defenders miss both at the LOS and in open field. Clemente can be physical at the point of contact and has excellent balance, but is your speedy type back. He has shown the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield or even stretch the field vertically in the pass game. Clemente can be a game changer at the next level, and will be an absolute steal for whichever program he end up at. He does not hold an offer as of yet. [player_tooltip player_id="42677" first="Evan" last="Lovett"], 6’1" 210lbs, Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lovett dominated 3A football. Built with an athletic frame, he shows excellent vision with very good balance, as he does not go down if he’s not wrapped up. He’s displayed an ideal combination of speed, physicality, and shiftiness for an all-purpose back. Lovett shows good physicality at the point of contact which frequently breaks him loose for big plays. He can stop and cut laterally on a dime and make opponents miss in open space. He does a great job in the pass game, as he can run routes from the backfield or split out wide or in the slot. He does a solid job of getting upfield after the catch and was a constant big play treat in 3A. He would be solid fit at the D2 level, and holds offers from Western New Mexico and Eastern New Mexico. [player_tooltip player_id="93288" first="Donavin" last="Fontaine"], 5’6" 160lbs, O’Connor HS Fontaine is a quick and shifty scat-back type that plays with a high motor. He has shown excellent short area quickness with a good burst. He is very difficult to bring down one on one due to his shiftiness. Fontaine shows solid fast twitch and has shown the ability to juke, spin, and stutter to make opponents miss. He did a good job catching the ball out of the backfield, then used his quickness and jittery movements to pick up big gains after the catch. He has very good body control and athleticism, and could excel at the D3-NAIA level. He holds notable offers from Friends University, Simpson College, St. Olaf College, and Nebraska Wesleyan. [player_tooltip player_id="93180" first="Tommy" last="Arnold"], 5’11" 200lbs, Sunrise Mountain HS Arnold led Sunrise Mountain to a 5A state championship win, and proved to be a truck to bring down. Arnold is a north-south type back, and accelerates through the hole with a solid pad level. He runs through opponents, finishing runs with aggressiveness. His physicality is highly impressive, as he will take anyone head on and frequently bounces off or trucks opponents. He has solid vision and was extremely effective at the goal line and 3rd and short scenarios. His physicality allowed him to break loose for big plays throughout the season, and it can be a helpful trait to build off off at the next level, as he shows solid potential for a D3-NAIA prospect. He currently holds offers from Benedictine College, Presentation College, McPherson College, and Arizona Christian.
