Lebbeus Overton

Milton | 2022
GA
, Class of 2023, Milton
Despite only being a sophomore, Overton led 7A in sacks this past season with 21.5 sacks in 12 games. To go along with those sacks he racked up 70 total tackles, 38 tackles for a loss, 26 quarterback hurries, and 6 forced fumbles. He is a great defensive end. He overpowered linemen and bulldozed his way into the backfield on numerous occasions. Overton has a high motor and can stun blockers to allow others to make the play. It is no surprise he has already received offers from schools like Alabama and Florida.
James Smith, Class of 2021, Collins Hill
The second sack leader was Smith with 17 sacks this past season. He was a force on the defensive line this year and was the leading tackler in 7A this season. In 15 games he had 180 total tackles and 61 tackles for a loss. Smith is built like a tweener but his smaller size and speed cause defenders to struggle to get their hands on him. He has a good swim move that helps him get into the backfield consistently. Similar to Overton, he plays with a lot of energy and keeps it up throughout the game. Currently, he is verbally committed to Tennessee Tech.
Hudson Tucker, Class of 2021, Camden County
Tucker finished the season as the third sack leader. In 10 games, he had 14 sacks, 14 quarterback hurries, 57 total tackles, and 3 forced fumbles. He has good footwork and got around defenders quickly all season long. He is good with his hands and uses them effectively to shed blockers. Tucker’s dominant performance last season earned him All-Region Defensive Player of the Year. He will be joining Smith at Tennessee Tech as he committed there on early signing day.
Justin Watson, Class of 2021, North Gwinnett
There was a three-way tie for the fourth sack leader in 7A with 12 sacks. Watson is a strong defensive tackle that got into the backfield and killed drives. He was very impressive in 9 games. Watson finished the season with 44 total tackles. Has the strength to penetrate the line of scrimmage. He demonstrated the ability to maintain his gap. Watson has received offers from Kentucky Wesleyan and Reinhardt but is still undecided. He is definitely a prospect worth taking a second look at.
Jibran Hawkins

Discovery | 2021
State
GA
, Class of 2021, Discovery
One of the prospects tied with Watson was Hawkins. Hawkins had a great senior season for Discovery, finishing with 12 sacks, 32 total tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 1 interception. His interception was a pick 6 and showed off his speed. He exploded off the line to get into the backfield and cut off the quarterback’s throw to the running back. He did a fantastic job driving linemen backward this season. He’s a gamer and made a lot of big plays for Discovery. Hawkins signed his letter of intent to Ole Miss on early signing day.
Kayden McDonald

North Gwinnett | 2023
State
GA
, Class of 2023, North Gwinnett
Tied with Watson and Hawkins at 12 sacks was McDonald. Between Watson and McDonald, it is easy to understand why North Gwinnett’s defensive front was so great. In 11 games he totaled 56 total tackles, 29 tackles for a loss, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery. He’s only a sophomore but has shown a lot of potential. He has great size and uses it to his advantage to overpower lineman. McDonald has good hands and awareness. When engaged with blockers he was able to extend an arm out and bring down ball carriers. He has received offers from Georgia, Tennessee, and Michigan State.
