The wide receiver position grouping for the class of 2022 is a deep and a talented one. In this article we will continue our early examination of the wide receiver position. In the first article, we were able to see that the talent in the position grouping is all over the state of Arkansas. In this article we see that is a trend that will continue.
Starting our examination of the talent up in Bentonville. [player_tooltip player_id="93523" first="Cooper" last="Smith"] is a wide receiver that can work the slot position effectively as well as the outside receiver position. He has impressive speed and has shown that he can create separation from the defenders with his speed. Smith has a second gear, and he is dangerous in the open field. Smith has flown under the radar, however, with seven-on-seven tournaments getting ready to heat up, Smith will have the opportunity to show scouts what he can do. I expect Smith to be a sought-after prospect as the 2022 recruiting class takes over the spotlight.
Meanwhile, in Benton, the Panthers have a dangerous wide receiver on the roster there. [player_tooltip player_id="75088" first="Cameron" last="Harris"] is an ideal fit for the outside receiver position and is a big play threat all over the field. He has good speed, but it is his athletic ability that will really impress scouts. Harris a perfect wide receiver to throw the jump ball to and let him go up and pull it down. He is a red zone threat and has the potential to have a terrific senior season. Harris is a dual-sport athlete so his athletic ability will have a chance to stand out over the next few months. He has tremendous potential, and his recruiting will be something for scouts to pay attention to.
The Bentonville Tigers are loaded at the skill positions and wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id="75090" first="Chas" last="Nimrod"] gives Bentonville another big play threat. Nimrod is one of those wide receivers that uses his speed and route running well. He has a second a gear and he uses it well to pull away from defensive backs. Nimrod is a threat to score from anywhere on the field, which is why the Tigers have used him on special teams. The deep and intermediate routes are where Nimrod is at his most impressive and he is a young man that has the potential to play on Saturdays. The weapons Bentonville has returning for the 2021 season are going to be fun to watch.
Little Rock Central High School has some talented prospects in the class of 2022. The Tigers’ coaching staff does a great job of using wide [player_tooltip player_id="75099" first="Parker" last="Perry"] in the red zone. At 6-4, Perry can use his size to high point the football. Perry has good speed; he will not leave the defensive back trailing him, but he is physical enough to create separation. He does a good job of running his routes and he can throw a double move at opposing defensive backs that will keep them off balance. He has the potential to play on Saturday’s and he is a 2022 prospect that can really shoot up the Prep RedZone rankings with a big season.
The Shiloh Christian Saints have one of the most dynamic passing offenses in the state of Arkansas. Wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id="75100" first="Kahlil" last="Mobley"] does an excellent job of creating separation from the defensive back using his athletic ability and size. Mobley is 6-4 and he uses his size well to high point the football. He is a smooth route runner, and he can be difficult to bring down. To play in the Saints offense, the wide receivers are very disciplined about looking the ball in and not dropping passes. Mobley has the potential to play on Saturdays and he is going to be an intriguing player to watch this upcoming season.
