2021 RANKINGS TOP 30 NEWCOMERS PART 1- 1-10
Here is a look at part 1 of the top players added to the recent ratings change.
#36 WR Chris RhoneChrisRhone
6'4" | 200 lbs | WR
Gray Collegiate Academy | 2021 StateSC
, Gray Collegiate Academy, 6’4, 200
First on this list is Rhone who brings P5 size and has great upside. He plays for a team that does not throw the ball a ton but he has the physical tools and upside to produce even more at the college level. He signed with Coastal Carolina where he will be coached very well and could be a star.
#45 WR Jaylin TolbertJaylinTolbert
6'3" | 205 lbs | WR
Greenwood | 2021 StateSC
, Greenwood, 6’3, 205
Tolbert is an All-Region selection and Region Player of the Year. He played quarterback and receiver for Greenwood where he was a big-play threat for them. Tolbert was a Class 4A first-team All-State selection as an athlete. He signed with Georgia State where he could be a player to watch.
#46 RB Zaire ScotlandZaireScotland
6'1" | 220 lbs | RB
Walhalla | 2021 StateSC
, Walhalla, 6’1, 220
Scotland was not on our radar early on but he had a great year for Walhalla. He is a big, strong runner who can run inside or outside and has good change of direction for his size. Scotland signed with Army where he will fit in their triple option scheme well.
#48 CB Jordan MahoneyJordanMahoney
6'0" | 170 lbs | DB
South Pointe | 2021 StateSC
, South Pointe, 6’0, 170
There have been a lot of good defensive backs come from Rock Hill and he is next in line. Mahoney has good height with room to grow. He can play the boundary or field side as he will just lock down the best receiver on the field. Mahoney signed with UMASS in the early signing period.
#51 WR Eriq RiceEriqRice
6'2" | 170 lbs | WR
AC Flora | 2021 StateSC
, AC Flora, 6’2, 170
Rice was the top offensive player on the 11-0 state champion AC Flora Falcons team. He had over 100 yards in the state title game and showed the ability to stretch the field. He received a PWO offer from South Carolina just prior to signing day and committed to walk-on at South Carolina where it would not be a shock to see him on scholarship in a year or so.
#55 RB Dwayne WrightDwayneWright
5'11" | 205 lbs | RB
Fort Dorchester | 2021 StateSC
, Fort Dorchester, 5’11, 205
Here is another running back that had a very good year that burst onto our radar. Wright was an All-Region 8-AAAAA pick in 2019 but we wanted to see more as he was a first-year starter. In his second season as starter he repeated as an All-Region pick, was named to the All-Lowcountry first-team, and selected for the Shrine Bowl in 2020. Wright ran for 1,216 yards and 17 rushing touchdowns and also caught 10 balls this year.
#62 QB Nebanye MooreNebanyeMoore
6'2" | 205 lbs | QB
South Pointe | 2021 StateSC
, South Pointe, 6’2, 205
Moore was not on our list early on because he did not play in South Carolina in 2019. Moore transferred from Statesville where he was a two-time All-County and All-Conference selection. He was a standout for South Pointe in 2020 where he started four games. Moore showed a strong enough arm and good mobility. He did not sign anywhere but is a player who should end up in the FCS or at a G5 program.
#73 DB Hahsaun WilsonHahsaunWilson
5'11" | 190 lbs | DB
South Florence | 2021 StateSC
, South Florence, 5’11, 190
Wilson came out of nowhere for us to become a top 75 prospect from South Florence. He was given a PWO offer from Charlotte after he received several D2 and FCS offers.
#74 OL Davis SutherlandDavisSutherland
6'2" | 320 lbs | OL
Abbeville | 2021 StateSC
, Abbeville, 6’2, 320
Sutherland was a Class 2A first-team All-State selection in 2020 for Abbeville. He played left guard where he shows a strong punch and the ability to pull. He can finish blocks and plays with good physicality.
#75 DE Tim BrandTimBrand
6'6" | 230 lbs | DL
Trinity Collegiate | 2021 StateSC
, Trinity Collegiate Academy, 6’6, 230
Brand signed with Gardner-Webb from Trinity Collegiate School where his size alone makes him a player to watch. He totaled 41 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, and seven sacks to earn first-team All-Region honors in 2020. He was also picked to play in the SCISA All-Star Game for the South roster.
