One of the offseason’s top under the radar prospects committed to Boise State.
Ahmed Hassanein from Loara (Anaheim) also had offers from Duke, Fresno State, Kansas and Northern Colorado.
He was a CrossFit athlete in Egypt before moving to America two years ago and becoming a football star at Loara playing for his brother Cory Besch and head coach Mitch Olson.
Hassanein’s brother Besch played with Boise State defensive line coach Spencer Danielson at Azusa Pacific, which helped played a role in Ahmed’s commitment.
"My older brother played a big role in the decision and he was on the call with me yesterday as well. He really liked the fit for me at Boise State and I know a lot of that was because of his relationship with coach Spencer," Hassanein told Greg Biggins of 247Sports. "Coach Spencer is a great guy and we talked every day. It wasn’t even just about football, he’s someone I felt comfortable enough that I could talk to him about anything. Boise State is such a great school for developing players like me."
