Yet, the odd recruiting calendar for Class of 2021 prospects meant a whole bunch of players getting overlooked. Here are six seniors from the Falcons’ title-winning roster who should be getting some traction between this week and the late signing period.
AMOREE STEPHENS, DE/MLB
The 6-foot-1, 250-pounder capped off his stellar final season with four tackles for loss against North Myrtle Beach in the title game. It was exactly what he’d done all season. Stephens led the team in tackles and tackles for loss.
MATT PACK, RB
The 5-foot-9 tailback takes aggressive running to the next level, frequently initiating contact. He worked opposing defensive lines all season, running for 1,100 yards and 14 touchdowns.
BILLY AVANT, OL
Avant is an undersized lineman at just 6-foot and 230 pounds, but his production and footwork made him valuable for the Falcons. The next-level interior lineman is a great hands up blocker who helped A.C. Flora put up huge points.
ERIC RICE, WR
Rice burned North Myrtle Beach’s stout defense a couple times, once on a quick out and again on a deep pass. At 6-foot-2 and with great speed, it’s no surprise he led the Falcons in every receiving category.
MAX CHILDRESS, LB
Childress does a little bit of everything well. Moving well laterally, he had a bunch of tackles, recorded five sacks, picked off a pass, forced a fumble, recovered another and took back a turnover for a score.
JAYLIN BROWN, DT
At 280 pounds, Brown was a force on the inside of the defensive line all season, chewing up space and bodies against opposing run games. He finished the season fourth on the team in tackles and even picked off a pass.
