Allers recently had a breakout performance at the National Preps Collegiate Showcase event in Eugene with close to 400 athletes in attendance. His overall size and speed put him in a special category of athlete. Even as one of the youngest individuals competing (15 years old), he finished as one of the three fastest players there, barely losing in the finals of the fastest man competition.
Testing wise Allers separates himself on multiple fronts. He is a two-sport standout showing off his overall athleticism on the basketball floor. His acrobatic dunks only help to solidify him as one of the most exciting up and coming players in the West. *Check link below
There is still a lot yet to be determined, as neither Allers or Hogan Carmichael have yet to play Varsity football, with this year’s postponed season. That said as Chip will most likely project as a 4* LB and one of the top players in the state.
Speaking on his teammate and friend Carmichael, Allers says, ” He’s got size and god given talent. Hogan’s very athletic and has a unique pocket presence, especially at 6-5 with his ability to maneuver so well.”
Coach Corben Hyatt has done a good job with the program. The future is bright with a talented 2022 class and this elite pair of 23’s. Referencing coach, Allers says “He has great connections with his players and helps his guys when it comes to getting to the next level.”
Overall, it’s been a successful last 1/2 decade for the Storm going (29-6) from 2014-16 with a state title, while dropping off a bit over the last three years now playing at the 6A level, finishing at (9-18) from 2017-19.
The hope is that kids in Oregon will be playing a spring season which will be starting shortly. Based on the results from other states there is no reason they shouldn’t play.
Central Oregon is a beautiful place to live and will be worth the drive for college coaches to come see this combo play in the coming years. We will keep you updated as both Allers and Carmichael have the potential to be difference makers for the Storm as Sophomores.
