There elite 8 is here and the top teams are just two wins away from playing in the state championship game. In today’s story Prep-Redzone gives the latest on which players you need to look out for in Class 6A this weekend. &nbsp; <strong>Langston Hughes vs. Buford:</strong> In a matchup between 11-1 Langston Hughes and the powerhouse 10-1 Buford Wolves, the game will likely down to Langston Hughes’ rushing attack led by junior star tailback, [player_tooltip player_id="33872" first="Antonio" last="Martin"]. In 5 games this year, the 5-foot-10 195-pound back has rushed for 515 yards on 79 carries (103 ypg) and 7 touchdowns. He’s a strong, compact back with great vision and tackle-breaking ability. He’s not the fastest back in the state, but he does have a nice burst and can quickly get up the field. The Wolves’ defense has been outstanding all season, giving up at least 10 points just once in their last 10 games, winning each one after losing in their season opener against North Cobb. They don’t give up many yards on the ground, but they haven’t played against a back like Martin all season. If he can get going, Langston Hughes has a real shot at upsetting Buford. &nbsp; <strong>Carrollton vs. Valdosta</strong> Two of the state’s best will collide in this Elite 8 matchup and will showcase two of the top defenders in the entire state. The Wildcats are led by junior defensive back JaDarian Rhym, a true cover corner with great ball skills who holds offers from Georgia, Alabama, Florida, among others. Senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id="33741" first="Jaylin" last="Alderman"] is also a major defender to know and has made 96 tackles so far this season. The 11-0 Knights are led by junior tailback, Amehere Morrison who has run over just about every opponent so far this season. The speedy back has rushed for 1,832 yards on 246 carries and 28 touchdowns. He put the Knights on his back this season and led them to an undefeated season and a region championship. The Trojans will have senior linebacker Jaron Willis who will try to corral Morrison all night. The 4-star at 6-foot-2 200-pounder knows how to cover, but he doesn’t miss many tackles. He’s a big, strong defender with offers from Florida, Auburn, LSU, among others. &nbsp; <strong>Westlake vs. Allatoona</strong> The Allatoona Buccaneers may be undefeated at 10-0, but most of the talent will be on the other sideline. The Westlake Lions are 10-1 and led by sophomore QB RJ Johnson who has thrown for 2,978 yards and 24 TDs this season. The up and coming QB prospect has also rushed for 250 yards and three more TDs. Senior WR Dacarri Collins, a Clemson commit, will be one of Johnson’s biggest targets. The 4-star has caught 48 passes for 842 yards and 8 TDs so far this season. The best Lions playmaker might be on defense in senior defensive back and LSU commitment, [player_tooltip player_id="33663" first="Nathaniel" last="Wiggins"]. The long, athletic 6-foot-2 defender has great ball skills and one one of the top defensive prospects in the country. The 4-star is a shutdown defender, but has also caught 11 passes for 323 yards and 4 TDs. He also has one kick return touchdown on the season.
