These prospects range from being 4-Star recruits to having Mid Major, Power Five, FCS or no offers at all. All over the state of California, athletes are patiently waiting for their football season to get underway in the next month while other States like Utah have already wrapped up their entire season and the 2021 prospects have already had their Senior seasons. In hopes of a Winter football season for California athletes, here is Part-I of some of the top rising Sophomores in the Northern California Region.
QB Jaden Rashada Jaden Rashada 6'4" | 185 lbs | QB Pittsburg | 2023 State CA 6’5″ 175 Ibs., Pittsburg HS
The 4-Star recruit and #1 Dual-Threat Quarterback in the Nation for the 2023 class and recent Pittsburg High School transfer is looking to have a huge Sophomore campaign for the Pirates. After recently transferring in from IMG Academy in Bradenton Florida, Rashada has had a busy off-season attending various camps and showcases and currently holds offers from the likes of Auburn, Utah, ASU, Oregon State and Cal, among others. Through out the Summer, Fall and going into Winter, Rashada has shown his great overall athletic ability, smooth movement in the pocket both laterally and vertically, quick release, big arm and ability to through both out-breaking and in-breakout routes with good velocity and zip on the ball. One of the top prospects in the entire nation, the Pittsburg High School product is looking to have a huge Sophomore year and will continue to pull in more offers and draw even more interest.
WR Jurrion Dickey Jurrion Dickey 6'2" | 210 lbs | WR Menlo-Atherton | 2023 State CA 6’2″ 207 Ibs., Valley Christian HS-San Jose
Another 4-Star prospect hailing from Northern California, Dickey currently holds multiple Power Five offers from the likes of Cal, Arkansas, ASU, Oregon State and San Jose State. An incredible overall athlete that is physically put together for his age, the rising Sophomore flashed his big play ability, strong hands in traffic, ability to track the football and breakaway speed in his Freshman season, all while playing in one of the toughest leagues in all of California. Clocking in a verified 4.67 verified 40-yard dash at over 200+ pounds makes Dickey a matchup nightmare and will earn him 12+ more Power Five offers by the time he graduates high school. A true 50/50 ball hawk and physical receiver, Dickey will turn into a true elite outside receiver at the next level.
QB Kenyon Nelson Kenyon Nelson 6'1" | 205 lbs | ATH Lincoln - Stockton | 2023 State CA 6’1″ 205 Ibs., Lincoln-Stockton HS
One of the most athletically talented and electrifying quarterbacks in the entire country, the 2023 Dual-Threat quarterback will have 10+ Power Five offers by the time it’s all said and done. Currently holding one offer from the University of Tennessee, Nelson is coming off a great Freshman campaign for the Trojans where he showed his ability to be a true dual-threat quarterback while still being able to push the ball downfield. On tape, Kenyon is a very high IQ player with great size and strength, especially in his lower body. He surveys the field efficiently and moves well in the pocket while keeping his eyes downfield until necessary to tuck and run. On the run, he flashes good acceleration/burst through the first two levels and has good open field speed and balance with the ability to make people miss in space and run through arm tackles while showing good toughness. The 2023 prospect has huge upside potential and will continue to show his elite athleticism as he moves through high school and directs the offense for one of the most talented teams in all of Northern California.
DL
Amos Talalele

Talalele
6'4" | 300 lbs | OL
Santa Clara | 2023
State
CA
6’4″ 305 Ibs., Santa Clara HS
Currently not holding any offers, the Santa Clara High School product had one of the most productive seasons of any interior defensive lineman in Northern California during his Freshman season. Talalele has a huge frame and moves well for his size both in the short area and in space. On tape, the 2023 prospect shows a quick first step twitch and good pad level/initial punch and hand placement at the POA while having a few pass rush moves in his toolbox. Although a still raw and developing player, Talalele has the ability and strength to be a true two-gap anchor that can play both the run and the pass from multiple positions along the defensive line. Heading into his Sophomore and eventual Junior Season, Amos should start to see some FCS and Mid-Major interest pick up and will look to haul in his first offer in the coming months.
