The 2020 football season was certainly one to remember, fondly or not, but now since the season is over, it’s time to acknowledge some of the best of the best the state had to offer this season. With my All-State teams, I like to cover all of my bases when picking out how many of each position should be on my All-State teams, with 2 QB’s 3 RB’s 4 WR’s, 2 TE’s, 5 O-linemen, 4 D-linemen, 4 LB’s, 3 CB’s, and 3 Safeties. As a bonus, I’d like to post my all-lower class team as well, which for this year only features sophomores. So without further adieu, here are my Class 4A All-State teams.

QB1 [player_tooltip player_id="23828" first="Jase" last="Bauer"], Ankeny, SR
The Central Michigan commit Bauer threw for 2041 yards and 28 touchdowns while rushing for 852 yards and 10 more TDs en route to a state title.
QB2 [player_tooltip player_id="23947" first="Jaxon" last="Dailey"], Southeast Polk, JR
The state’s top junior QB, Jaxon threw for 1858 yards and 19 touchdowns while leading the Rams to the state title game.
RB1 [player_tooltip player_id="35343" first="Arland" last="Bruce IV"], Ankeny, SR
Imported from the Kansas City area, the Iowa commit quickly became a game-changer in the 7 games he played as he made a total of 1111 yards from scrimmage in the process.
RB2 [player_tooltip player_id="23841" first="Ryan" last="Ostrich"], Cedar Falls, SR
Rushing for 1336 yards and 14 touchdowns in just 8 games, the speedster has an offer to stay at home and play for UNI.
RB3 [player_tooltip player_id="23839" first="Max" last="White"], Cedar Rapids Kennedy, SR
Although he was a quarterback, The Iowa walk-on made his presence known in the run game as he rushed for 1400 yards and 17 touchdowns.
WR1 [player_tooltip player_id="23810" first="Brody" last="Brecht"], Ankeny, SR
The Iowa football/baseball commit solidified his status as the best receiver in the state with a 599 yard and 12 touchdown performance this season.
WR2 Isaiah Emanuel, Southeast Polk, SR
Originally from the Chicago area, Isaiah led the Rams receiving game with 39 receptions for 718 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Leading the Trojans in every receiving category, Grahm made 33 receptions for 614 yards and 10 touchdowns.
WR4 [player_tooltip player_id="23842" first="Louis" last="Brooks"], Dowling, SR
The Maroons leading receiver made 40 receptions for 685 yards and 8 touchdowns while helping Dowling reach the state semis.
TE1 [player_tooltip player_id="23819" first="Tyler" last="Moore"], Johnston, SR
The Iowa State commit made 45 receptions for 571 yards and 6 touchdowns in his senior season.
TE2 [player_tooltip player_id="23822" first="Carson" last="Williams"], Marshalltown, SR
The future Buffalo Bull made 35 receptions for 403 yards and 3 touchdowns while also leading the Bobcats with 51 tackles.
OL1 [player_tooltip player_id="24023" first="Kadyn" last="Proctor"], Southeast Polk, SR, LT
The 6’7 285 sophomore is one of the top linemen in the nation in his class.

The 6’5, 303 lb Northern Illinois commit helped block one of the state’s best run games.

The Iowa recruit led an o-line that helped the offense average 279.38 rushing yards per game.

The 6’5, 275 future Cyclone led the way for an offense that averaged 308.5 yards per game.
OL5 Reese Steele, Southeast Polk, SR, RG
At 6’5, 285 lbs, The Iowa Western recruit pulled for a Rams run game that averaged 230 YPG.
DL1 Dominic Caggiano, Southeast Polk, SR, DE
Dominic was dominant all year long, making 70 tackles, 30 tackles for loss, and 16 sacks in just 11 games.

The Miami of Ohio recruit made 32.5 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and an interception in his senior season.

The 2021 Hawkeye recruit made 28 tackles, 13 TFL, and 5.5 sacks while making 13 receptions for 278 yards and 2 touchdowns as the starting Tight End.

The 6’0, 315 lb run-stuffer made 15 TFL’s and 30.5 tackles altogether.
LB1 [player_tooltip player_id="23844" first="Seth" last="Bullock"], Dubuque Senior, SR, 3-4 MLB
Making 60.5 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, a fumble recovery, and an 89-yard pick-six as a senior, Seth has a bunch of MVFC offers to choose from after that stellar season.
LB2 [player_tooltip player_id="23823" first="Tucker" last="Langenberg"], Urbandale, SR, 3-4 OLB
While he made 30 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, and 4 fumble recoveries on defense, Tucker made the biggest impact on offense, as he rushed for 1073 yards and 18 touchdowns.
LB3 Brecken Manus, Ankeny, SR, 3-4 MLB
Brecken led an excellent Hawk defense with 77.5 tackles on route to the state championship.
LB4 [player_tooltip player_id="23811" first="Jaden" last="Harrell"], Urbandale, SR, 3-4 MLB
The Iowa commit led the J-Hawks in tackles for the third straight season with 45.5 tackles.
CB1 [player_tooltip player_id="23824" first="Aaron" last="Smith"], Waukee, SR
While Aaron has broken out as one of the state’s best all-around skill players by making 896 total yards and 15 TDs offensively, he’s always been an excellent corner, as he made 26.5 tackles and 2 interceptions.
CB2 [player_tooltip player_id="23885" first="Prince" last="Wei"], Muscatine, SR
One of the 4A’s better-tackling corners, Prince made 34 tackles and 2 interceptions as a senior.
CB3 Landon Nelson, Valley, SR
Coming from Southern California, Landon was a solid corner this season as he made 19 tackles for the Tigers.

Joe led the Warriors with 64 tackles over their 10-game season.
S2 [player_tooltip player_id="23942" first="Xavier" last="Nwankpa"], Southeast Polk, JR, FS
One of the best safeties in the nation, Xavier made 6 interceptions and 41 tackles as a junior.
S3 [player_tooltip player_id="23931" first="Caleb" last="Rathjen"], Ankeny, SR, FS
The future Hawkeye wrestler made an impact on the gridiron too, as he made 51 tackles and 4 fumble recoveries for the Hawks.
K Lucas Bartachek, Waukee, SR
Lucas went 8/11 on field goals with a season-long of 48 yards, and he also went 34/35 on PAT’s.

Although he made a bigger impact at quarterback, the future Iowa baseball player averaged 44.2 yards per punt off of 14 punts all season.

Averaging 33.5 yards-per-kick return, Grahm also took a return 99 yards to the house.

QB1 [player_tooltip player_id="23854" first="Aidan" last="Dunne"], Dubuque Hempstead, SR
One of 4A’s top dual-threat QB’s, Dunne tossed 1755 passing yards and 13 touchdowns while rushing for 617 yards and 15 more scores.
QB2 [player_tooltip player_id="23941" first="Lennx" last="Brown"], Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln, SR
Lennx helped give AL their best record in a while as he threw for 1064 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing for 584 yards and 11 touchdowns as well.
RB1 [player_tooltip player_id="23983" first="Titus" last="Christiansen"], Southeast Polk, JR
Titus was essential to the Rams offense as he rushed for 1382 yards and 16 touchdowns this season.
RB2 [player_tooltip player_id="23967" first="Colin" last="Kadolph"], Ankeny, JR
Colin has had a nose for the endzone all year long, rushing for 840 yards and scoring 15 touchdowns over the season.
RB3 [player_tooltip player_id="23879" first="Alex" last="Linquist"], Waukee, SR
Alex finished the season as 4A’s leading rusher with 1483 yards to go along with 7 touchdowns.
WR1 [player_tooltip player_id="23954" first="Tynan" last="Numkena"], Bettendorf, JR
Initially starting the season at QB, Tynan moved back to his true position and made 28 receptions for 281 yards and 4 touchdowns while also rushing for 324 yards and 4 more scores.
WR2 [player_tooltip player_id="23849" first="Dante" last="Hansen"], Sioux City North, SR
Dante led the Stars with 29 receptions for 614 yards and 8 touchdowns as he heads over to play JuCo ball at Iowa Western.
WR3 Tay Norman, Waterloo West, SR
One of Class 4A’s top receivers statistically, Tay made 55 receptions for 852 yards and 7 touchdowns.
WR4 [player_tooltip player_id="23951" first="Corey" last="Phillips"], Ames, JR
With 25 receptions for 349 yards and 5 touchdowns as a junior, the 6’5, 250 lb Phillips has some tremendous upside as a Tight End.
TE1 [player_tooltip player_id="23908" first="Eddie" last="Saidat"] Jr, Waukee, SR
The Sioux Falls commit made 29 receptions for 374 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Warriors.
TE2 [player_tooltip player_id="23850" first="Andrew" last="Lentsch"], Dowling, SR
After making 15 receptions for 221 yards and 3 touchdowns as a senior, Andrew announced his commitment to Iowa recently as a PWO.
OL1 Beau Schaller, Waukee, SR, LG
Beau quietly became one of the state’s best o-linemen, as he managed to be first-team all-4A in both the IPSWA and the Des Moines Register.
OL2 Justice Miller, Ankeny, SR, LT
A first-year starter and captain, Justice protected the blindside to arguably the best offense in Class 4A.

The 6’7 295 lb junior helped protect an offense that averaged 238.14 passing yards a game.
OL4 [player_tooltip player_id="23986" first="Cade" last="Borud"], Southeast Polk, SR, RT
Protecting the blindside, the 6’3 305 lb junior helped make the Rams offense average 405.73 yards per game.
OL5 Kane Zemo, Pleasant Valley, SR, RG
The 6’3, 245 lb guard has been a cornerstone to the Spartans’ o-line for the last couple of seasons.

Long seen as one of the top 2021 recruits out of Iowa, the future Hawkeye made 18 tackles and 7 TFL’s while also starting at Guard for the Bulldog run game.
DL2 [player_tooltip player_id="23901" first="Cayden" last="Lovett"], Dubuque Hempstead, SR, DT
The future Minnesota State Maverick made 29.5 tackles and 6.5 TFL’s while starting on the o-line as well.
DL3 [player_tooltip player_id="23961" first="Dominic" last="Wiseman"], Davenport North, JR, DT
One of the best junior d-linemen in the state, Dominic made 37.5 tackles with 18.5 of them being for a loss.
DL4 Jalen Smith, Dubuque Hempstead, SR, DE
Making 26 tackles and 5 sacks coming off the edge, Jalen played a ton of time as their No. 2 RB as well.
LB1 Ethan Breyfogle, Sioux City East, SR, MLB
Pacing the Black Raiders in tackles, Ethan made 65.5 tackles, 7 TFL’s, and 3 fumble recoveries.
LB2 Aidan Moore, Johnston, SR, OLB
Aidan led the Dragons with 56.5 tackles and also managed to get 8 tackles for loss, a fumble recovery, and 2 interceptions while leading the team in rushing yards with 229.
LB3 [player_tooltip player_id="23956" first="Cade" last="Sheedy"], Davenport North, JR, OLB
As a junior, Cade made 43 tackles, 11 TFL’s, and 2 fumble recoveries while leading the Wildcats in rushing with 209 yards.
LB4 [player_tooltip player_id="23930" first="Chase" last="Evanson"], Waukee, SR, MLB
Chase led a strong Waukee front seven with 49.5 tackles.
CB1 Cooper Cox, Ankeny, SR
The speedster kept up with some of the best receivers CIML had to offer.
CB2 Mason DouBrava, Valley, SR
Mason made 17.5 tackles and 2 interceptions for a vaunted Valley secondary.
CB3 Nathan Gee, Cedar Falls, SR
The Tigers corner made 3 interceptions on a secondary that made 12 total.
S1 Trey Krause, Valley, SR, FS
Moving in from the Kansas City area, the K-State PWO made 40 tackles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 2 interceptions for the Tigers.
S2 [player_tooltip player_id="23955" first="Ryan" last="Crandall"], Ankeny, JR, SS
The junior made 55 tackles and 3 interceptions for an excellent Hawk defense.
S3 [player_tooltip player_id="23876" first="Sam" last="Daniel"], Fort Dodge, SR, FS
Sam was a ball magnet all year long, as he made a class 4A-high 8 interceptions while making 31.5 tackles in total.
K Owen Smith, Iowa City West, SR
An all-state kicker last season, this year Owen made all but one of his 34 PAT attempts while going 2/4 on field goals.
P Jesus Jaime, Ottumwa, SR
The Ottumwa defensive tackle averaged 42.3 yards-per-punt off of 20 total.
RET Nathan Gee, Cedar Falls, SR
On punt returns, Nate averaged 12.7 yards off of 21 returns.

QB1 Tamin Lipsey, Ames, JR
The basketball star returned to the gridiron for a tremendous junior season, throwing for 1023 yards and 10 touchdowns, while rushing for 937 yards, 11 touchdowns, and an absurd 13.8 yards per carry.
QB2 Carter Schulte, Waterloo West, SR
Carter put up an underrated stat sheet in 2020, throwing for 1876 yards and 16 touchdowns for the Wahawks.
RB1 Caden Kipper, Pleasant Valley, SR
Leading the way for one of the state’s top run games, Caden rushed for 1195 yards and 8 touchdowns while leading PV to the state semis.
RB2 [player_tooltip player_id="23991" first="Kael" last="Kolarik"], Indianola, JR
Kael had a solid junior campaign, as he rushed for 813 yards and 18 touchdowns for the Indians.
RB3 [player_tooltip player_id="23862" first="Nick" last="Pearson"], Prairie, SR
The key piece in Prairie’s single-wing offense, Nick rushed for 1206 yards and 17 touchdowns.
WR1 Jackson Ostrander, Dubuque Hempstead, SR
Making 40 receptions for 563 yards and 3 TD’s, Jackson opted to stay home and play for Clarke University, one of the 3 universities out of Dubuque.
WR2 Kade Somers, Ankeny, SR
As the Hawks’s #2 receiver for the first half of the season, Kade made 496 yards and 7 touchdowns on an explosive Hawks offense.
WR3 [player_tooltip player_id="23818" first="Matthew" last="Mahoney"], Valley, SR
The Princeton commit made 33 receptions for 352 yards and a touchdown in his senior campaign.
WR4 Tyler Schreier, Fort Dodge, SR
An electric slot receiver, Tyler made 48 receptions for 714 yards and 9 touchdowns for the Dodgers.

One of the highest recruited juniors in the state, Eli made 22 receptions for 237 yards and 2 touchdowns for Valley.

The Iowa Western commit made 18 receptions for 240 yards and 3 touchdowns while also holding his own blocking for the run.
OL1 Jake Vore, Southeast Polk, SR, RG
The 6’5, 300 lb senior committed to Iowa Western around when the playoffs started.
OL2 Joe Kingston, Ankeny, SO, RT
The 6’2, 285 lb sophomore bookended a strong Ankeny o-line en route to the state title.
OL3 Logan Saak, Cedar Falls, SR, RG
The 6’5, 300 pounder holds multiple D-2 offers from around the area.
OL4 Braeden Edwards, Valley, SR, LT
The 6’6, 265 lb first-year starter committed to St. Thomas in early November.
OL5 Kalob Runyon, Southeast Polk, SR, C
Playing center to arguably the best o-line in the state, Kalob committed to the UNI wrestling team last month.
DL1 Kaden Klemme, Bettendorf, SR, DT
A 3-year starter, Klemme made 23.5 tackles and 3 TFL’s on a strong Bulldog d-line.
DL2 Jeffrey Speer, Bettendorf, SR, DE
Jeffrey looked awesome on the edge, as he made 21 tackles, 12 TFL’s, 5 sacks, and 3 fumble recoveries as a senior.
DL3 Baxter Bohr, Prairie, SR, DE
Baxter put up a solid campaign for the Hawks, as his 29 tackles and 6.5 TFL’s were able to get him some notice from some schools all around the Hawkeye State.
DL4 [player_tooltip player_id="23883" first="Cade" last="Kuennen"], Johnston, SR, DT
Making 34 tackles all season, Cade also led the Dragons with 11 tackles for loss and got 2 sacks as well.
LB1 Micheal Robinson, Waterloo West, SR, OLB
Deuce Robinson made 33.5 tackles while also leading the Wahawks in rushing with 525 yards.
LB2 Reed Ulses, Muscatine, SR, 3-4 OLB
Reed made 50 tackles and 2 interceptions for the Muskies, including a 15-yard pick-six.
LB3 Clayton Scott, Prairie, SR, MLB
Leading the defense with 51.5 tackles, Clayton also doubled as the blocking back for the Hawks’ single-wing offense.
LB4 Max Derry, Dowling, SR, MLB
Mad led a great Maroons defense with 50.5 tackles over this season.
CB1 Quincy Wiseman, Davenport North, SR
The two-way star made 27 tackles, 8.5 TFL’s, and 3 interceptions while also leading the Wildcats in receiving with 27 receptions, 319 yards, and 2 touchdowns.
CB2 CJ Kuehl, Indianola, SR
Making 3 interceptions and 22 tackles, CJ also doubled as the Indians starting quarterback as well.
CB3 Owen Belman, Pleasant Valley, SR
A key part of a Spartans pass defense that gave up just 7 passing touchdowns, Owen made 40.5 tackles, 3 fumble recoveries, and 1 interception.
S1 [player_tooltip player_id="23838" first="Logan" last="Flanagan"], Dubuque Senior, SR, FS
The Sioux Falls commit made 17.5 tackles while helping hold opposing offenses to just 5 passing touchdowns all year.
S2 [player_tooltip player_id="23960" first="Clayton" last="Muszynski"], Linn-Mar, SR, SS
Clayton led the Lions in both tackles and TFL’s with 58 and 7 respectively.
S3 DaVares Whitaker, Sioux City East, JR, SS
DaVares could be one of the most exciting DB’s in the state, as he made 34.5 tackles and 4 interceptions with 2 of which going back to the house.
K Jacob Konrardy, Dubuque Senior, SR
Jacob went 7/8 on his field-goal tries this year, with a season-long of 41 yards.
P Dawson Stine, Valley, SO
Dawson’s varsity career is starting off well as he averaged 37.2 yards-per-punt off of 30 punts.
RET DaVares Whitaker, Sioux City East, JR
DaVares made quite the impact in special teams too, as he took a 94-yard kick return and a 57-yard punt return back for six, the only 4A player to score multiple TDs off of kickoff and punt returns.
