The early signing period has reached the midway point of the first day. And already a large number of players from the Midlands have inked with their respective colleges.

Georgia State’s impressive recruiting run in South Carolina now includes Hammond, who had 12 tackles for loss and nine sacks in just six games this year.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder will make the switch from quarterback to receiver when he makes it to Georgia State.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>

Pope backed off his initial commitment to Appalachian State and will instead accept a walk-on spot at Clemson.

Burrell is among the best receivers in a crowded in-state class of them this year, and he’s now signed with Florida State.

Taylor was initially a baseball recruit for Clemson, but he’ll have the opportunity to play both sports for the Tigers.
<strong>NOBLE COOPER, WR, BLYTHEWOOD</strong>
The Ivy League doesn’t pull a ton of athletes out of South Carolina, but Brown did with the 5-foot-11, 165-pound Cooper.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pounder is expected to play guard at Charlotte after signing with the 49ers on Wednesday.

Rhone was a big get for Coastal Carolina, who add a 6-foot-4 receiver who had 30 catches during his abbreviated senior season.

North Carolina State is getting a 6-foot-4, 282-pound lineman who can play all five spots up front.

Charleston Southern inked one of the most productive defensive linemen in the state in the 6-foot, 225-pound Owusu.

The 6-foot-3, 265-pound Peppers played primarily left guard at Greenwood and projects well there at The Citadel.
