I tweeted Magnus’ tape a few months ago and was baffled by how little offers he currently has. This kid is a Division I punter through and though and showed that on Sunday. Not only did he win the punt competition, but he also went 6 for 6 in the field goal prelims. He had a 52-yard bomb of a punt with a 4.6 hangtime, and a 48 yarder with a 4.59 hang time. Someone needs to offer this kid ASAP.
2. Aidan Ellison, Naperville Central, IL
This is another young man who has somehow slipped through the cracks, despite having a ton of ability as a kicker, punter, and kickoff specialist. Ellison may even be the most complete specialist on this list. His best punt of the day traveled 48 yards with a 3.56 hang. However, his most impressive feat was on kickoff, where he literally hit the back wall, a kick that was easily 65 yards plus. Aidan is a tremendous talent who colleges should jump on and get a steal.
3. Kannon Woodill, Plainfield North, IL
NIU recently received a commitment from Mr. Woodill, and he showed us exactly why he’s a Division one kicker on Sunday. He was a finalist in the field competition; he hit two long, back to back kickoffs, a 63 yarder with a 3.73 hang time and a 62 yarder with a 3.56 hang time. I’m really looking forward to watching Kannon’s career in DeKalb.
4. Ian Wagner, O’Fallon, IL
This a kid who, when you hear him hit the ball, it just sounds different. He can easily hit from 50 yards plus and always had plenty of leg behind his kicks. He’s still improving from an accuracy standpoint, but you can’t teach the god-given leg strength that he has. Illinois State has a good one coming to normal.
5. Marlon Pomili, Marian Central Catholic, IL
Pomili, to me, is primarily a field goal and kickoff specialist. He showed some serious ability with his best kick off traveling 61 yards, with a 3.66 hang time and finishing 5 for 6 in the filed goal prelims. He’s committed to Marian University, and It should be a great fit. Marlon is extremely consistent and can make a serious impact in big situations.
6. Julian Patino, Mount Carmel, IL
Julian has a great leg and went on to blast a 62-yard touchback on kickoff. His kicks on field goal had some serious pop to them, and he showed no issue with distance. I’m very curious to see his senior film, as he may sneak up on some people.
1. Jake Andjelic, Lincoln-Way Central, IL
I had seen Jake on film prior to this event and had been very intrigued by his potential as a kicker/punter. He came on Sunday and was clearly one of the best kickers in attendance. He won the field goal competition, defeating NIU commit Kannon Woodill. He hit a 62-yard kickoff to go along with a 40-yard punt that had a 4.32 hang time. If Jake continues to add size and strength, I think he could be an elite kind of kicker.
2. Enzo Diomede, Glenbard West, IL
I should just start calling this guy Mr. Touchback because that’s what his kickoffs are. Enzo’s 61-yard kickoff was one of the best of the day, not to mention he also went 6 for 6 in the field goal prelims. He’s a dependable kicker who can get it done very well on both field goals and kickoffs.
3. A.J. Vinatieri, Zionsville, IN
The son of future Hall of Famer Adam Vinatieri showed up and did not disappoint. A.J. was clearly one of the elite punters at the showcase and was one of the final two in our punting competition. In the prelims of the punt competition, A.J. hit a 51 yarder with a 4.44 hang time and a 52 yarder with a 4.31 hang time. He should be an FBS punter when it’s all said and done.
4. Allan Richards, Wilmington, IL
Richards may have been the biggest find of the entire camp. All of his field goal kicks would have easily gone in from 50 yards plus and made a different sound when the ball left his foot. He told us he’s never been coached before, so don’t be surprised if he shows up next year after getting some coaching and wins the whole thing!
5. Luke Silvernale, Forest Hills Northern, MI
Luke hit 5 out of 6 field goals in the prelims and then went on to blast back to back 51-yard punts, one of which had a 4.15 hang time! Really impressive kid who is a legit talent at both punter and kicker.
6. Palmer Domschke, Neuqua Valley, IL
Palmer was Neuqua’s kicker as a sophomore and was spectacular, earning both All-Area & All-Conference honors. Well, he showed that ability on Sunday, hitting a 60-yard kick-off and going a perfect 6 for 6 in the field goal prelims. Plenty of talent here and definitely a prospect college coaches need to know about.
1. Ryan Millmore, Normal, IL (2023)
I think Ryan Millmore will be an FBS kicker when it’s all said and done. On Sunday, he won both the field goal & punting competition for the underclassmen. The ball jumped off his foot, and he showed the leg strength and accuracy you look for in a high-level collegiate kicker.
2. Connor Talty, St. Rita, IL (2023)
Talty blasted a 43-yard punt to go along with a 55-yard kick-off with a 3.56 hang. Talty saw some varsity action as a freshman and looks to be the next great kicker/punter at St. Rita.
3. Adrian Guerrero, Willowbrook, IL (2023)
A finalist in the field goal competition, Guerrero showed pinpoint accuracy after going 6/6 in the field goal prelims. His kickoffs were solid, too, even booming a 54 yarder with a 3.44 hang time.
4. Marcello Diomede, Glenbard West, IL (2023)
This youngster showed a big leg on kickoffs, hitting a 59 yarder on his first attempt. His big brother better watch out because he’s got some serious competition.
5. Matthew Diaz, Saint Laurence, IL (2023)
Diaz hit a 55-yard kickoff, went 5 of 6 in the field goal prelims, and hit a 42-yard punt with a 4.03 hang time. The Vikings got a good one for the next three years.
6. Louie Chapetto, Mount Carmel, IL (2024)
The only freshman on this list and he earned it. Louie is extremely accurate as a kicker and had overall solid hang time on his kickoffs. His best ball is ahead of him, as he’s still continuing to grow.
7. Jack Welniak, Brother Rice, IL (2023)
The Catholic League is well represented on this list, and Welniak was one of their top performers. Jack hit a 40-yard punt and had a 53-yard kick off with a 3.60 hang time. To me, he’s got a ton of upside as a punter & kickoff specialist.
