2023 Offensive Players To Watch For Next Season

These 5 players from the class of 2023 should be circling on college radars and should start receiving more attention after having a great sophomore season.   [player_tooltip player_id="58826" first="Trey" last="Dunn"] South Charleston High School 2023 QB Trey had a monster sophomore campaign that landed him in the Kennedy award conversation for being the best player in the state. He’s one of the best quarterbacks in the state and made a huge jump from his play from his freshman year to his sophomore year. He’s completely in control of the offense and should be in the Kennedy conversation for the rest of his high school career with his ability to extend plays and throw with great accuracy in and outside of the pocket.   [player_tooltip player_id="58825" first="Mondrell" last="Dean"] South Charleston High School 2023 RB Mondrell made a big jump as well for South Charleston this fall. He showed that he’s capable of handling the load with rushing the ball and fought for extra yards and was a physical back. He’s already picked up a few FBS offers and will look to continue to have them come in with his play getting better each year. He shows great balance and underrated speed in the open field and shows the ability to power through defenders or make them miss as well. Look for Mondrell to make a good duo with [player_tooltip player_id="58826" first="Trey" last="Dunn"] and wreak havoc for another few seasons for South Charleston.   [player_tooltip player_id="58833" first="Cole" last="Porter"] John Marshall High School 2023 OL Cole stepped up his game for his sophomore campaign. He showed that he’s consistent in pass blocking along with run blocking as well. He shows great technique when getting hands on the defender and staying on his blocks. He shows great athleticism for being a bigger guy and uses it to his advantage with his quick first step off the line and doesn’t allow much time for a defender to make a move before he has his hands on and finishes through the block. Look for Cole to have an even bigger junior year for John Marshall next fall.   [player_tooltip player_id="58829" first="Roman" last="Pierson"] Martinsburg High School 2023 WR Roman showed great potential in his sophomore campaign. He showed great route running and the ability to take any catch for 6 points when it was thrown his way. He’s quick and uses this well in his route running and the ability to make defenders miss after making a catch.  With Martinsburg graduating a few wideouts this year Roman should look to step up and have a great junior year for the Bulldogs.   [player_tooltip player_id="58845" first="Amari" last="Felder"] Huntington High School 2023 RB Amari showed great potential in his sophomore year. He showed great patience when playing running back and came up with some big plays rushing the ball this past year. He shows the ability and willingness to get downhill and fight for extra yards and showed that he also catch the ball out of the backfield and do pretty much anything asked of him. Look for Amari to make a huge jump for his junior year and continue to progress as a player.
