There are so many worthy players who deserve recognition and more articles will be coming soon about these seniors who battled through one of the craziest seasons ever in high school football. Some of these players were able to play a full schedule while others lost games to COVID rules. As a former player and scout, but as a coach and a father, thank you all for battling each and every week.
DL Cam Careswell, Lee’s Summit West--The Mizzou baseball commit may want to ask Coach Drinkwitz if he can play football too. Phenomenal senior season.
DL [player_tooltip player_id="37198" first="Ethan" last="George"], Raymore-Peculiar, I have watched this young man quite a bit and he deserves every accolade he receives. Powerful hands and plays with leverage. Will be a solid college player.
DL [player_tooltip player_id="37317" first="Donald" last="Brown"], Raytown--Pure power packed tight in a muscular young man. Hard to move this beast off the line of scrimmage.
DL [player_tooltip player_id="37180" first="Aden" last="Birdwell"], Blue Springs South--Long arms and legs help him get to plays most DL can not. Committed to Central Missouri.
LB Jamari Westbrook, Park Hill South--Talk about breaking out as a senior. Westbrook made plays all over the field and was a one-man wrecking crew for the PHS squad.
LB Anthony Ross, St. Pius X--Small school player who showed he could play with anyone. Fantastic senior season.
LB [player_tooltip player_id="37162" first="Jermaine" last="Hamilton-Jordan"], Lincoln College Prep--Can play multiple positions but he is the perfect hybrid LB and will play quickly at Arkansas.
DB [player_tooltip player_id="37211" first="Collin" last="Tyson"], Platte County--Lived up to his preseason hype and while he is committed to Eastern Illinois, he has P5 talent.
DB [player_tooltip player_id="37218" first="Reginald" last="King"], Grandview--North Dakota State is getting a pure athlete who has coverage skills and plays the ball extremely well in the air.
DB [player_tooltip player_id="37195" first="Thomas" last="Smith"], Lee’s Summit--Rangy, long player who continues to improve every time he steps on the field. Will be a better college player than HS with added strength.
DB Malik Johnson, North Kansas City--If I am a college coach, Johnson gets an offer yesterday. 6’4 DBs with hoop skills don’t grow on trees. When he grows into his man strength, watch out!
DB Gunnar Griffin, Raymore-Peculiar--Balled out his senior season and was a difference maker on the back half of a championship squad.
