North Brunswick at South Brunswick, Friday: In the battle of Brunswicks, North Brunswick takes its 5-0 record to South Brunswick, a 4-1 team coming off a loss to Old Bridge. South Brunswick quarterback Vin Jairdullo and seniors Majid Howard-Baker, Iziah Butler and Justin Lawson are playmakers, while North Brunswick quarterback Frankie Garbolino and a solid defense will lead the way.
Bernards at Delaware Valley, Friday: This is an exciting matchup in Frenchtown Friday night. Tyler Holzworth is an impact player for Del Val who can do plenty of damage.
Bridgewater-Raritan at Phillipsburg, Friday: Bridgewater-Raritan was on a hot streak prior to sitting out due to COVID. Phillipsburg is coming off a convincing win over North Hunterdon after dropping its lone game of the year to Watchung Hills. The Panthers will look to pull the upset behind playmakers on both sides.
Park Ridge at Glen Rock, Friday: Glen Rock has won three straight since its lone loss of the year to Pompton Lakes. Quarterback Ty Scherer can make plays on the ground and in the air, and Andrew Sara is also capable of finding the end zone on the ground. Donovan Catholic at Toms River North, Friday: Donovan Catholic sits at 5-0, and this game could be a test against 3-2 Toms River North. Both teams can score and put up yards. This could be your classic shootout where a defensive hold late could seal the deal.
St. Joseph (Mont.) at Don Bosco, Friday: In this top-15 battle, Don Bosco returns to action after sitting out the last two weeks. Don Bosco hasn’t won since its season opener. St. Joseph is on a two-game streak, and running back and Michigan State commit Audric Estime Audric Estime 6'1" | RB St. Joe's Montvale | 2021 State NJ may be the toughest player to contain in the state. He recently surpassed 1,000 yards after five games, and Don Bosco will need to do its best to limit him to pull off the victory.
Ramapo at Wayne Hills, Friday: In this rivalry matchup, these two programs will do battle in what could be one of the top games of the week. Two good quarterbacks will go up against each other in Ramapo’s Charles DePrima Charles DePrima 6'2" | QB Ramapo | 2021 State NJ against Wayne Hills’ Noah Abida. This is a toss-up game that could fall either way.
West Morris at Randolph, Friday: In another rivalry game, West Morris and Randolph will do battle in a battle of unbeaten teams. The Wolfpack is 5-0 while the Rams are 4-0. This game could be a ground-and-pound type of game, and it’s usually decided up front. Both teams are well coached and can get it done defensively.
St. Peter’s Prep at Bergen Catholic, Saturday: This game will decide the top team in New Jersey. St. Peter’s Prep, No. 1 in the state rankings, will meet No. 2 Bergen Catholic in what will be an absolute battle in Oradell. Both teams have Division I players all over the field, and thus far both 4-0 powerhouses have fought off every challenge thrown at them. This will be a must-see game to determine the state’s best at this point.
