Southern Columbia Area 42 - Bishop McDevitt 14

This game was never in doubt despite the early 6-0 lead Bishop McDevitt took. Quarterback Nick Santo and wideout [player_tooltip player_id="27570" first="Emmanuel" last="Sia"] were at it again, linking up for a 12-yard touchdown, a connection that has served McDevitt well this season. Not sure whether said connection caught the Tigers off guard, nonetheless, Southern Columbia put an end to any kind of offensive productivity after the early first-quarter score. The SC defense was impeccable stopping the run, and forcing a talented but raw Nick Santo to throw the ball 31 times.
Bishop McDevitt ended the game with negative yards rushing, which was the polar opposite result on the other side of the ball. The star junior running back, [player_tooltip player_id="27651" first="Gavin" last="Garcia"] absolutely lit up the scoreboard, toting the rock 12 times for 205 yards on the ground and four touchdowns. Garcia ripped off touchdown runs of 58, 52, and 34 in this game, showing awesome acceleration once past the trenches. Garcia cemented his stock as an all-state junior running back prospect.

Beaver Falls 18 - Wilmington 20

Much like Southern Columbia and Bishop McDevitt, this game was won with the run game. Much could and should be said about [player_tooltip player_id="27202" first="Josh" last="Hough"], the elite running back prospect for Beaver Falls. Hough was stalled throughout the game but was able to show that tough, north-and-south style of running on a 76-yard touchdown run.
The Syracuse commit is highly touted and a well-known name in PA Prep talk, one name that isn’t however is Darren Miller, an athletic running back for Wilmington whose imprints on the game can not be ignored. Miller rushed 12 times on the night, running for 115 yards and 2 huge touchdowns in what would turn out to be a nail-biter. The game ended on an unfortunate note for Beaver Falls, who led a great drive to score to put the game within reach. A costly penalty made the game-tying two-point conversion that much harder to obtain, thus falling short on a pass that was well short of the endzone. That was that.
