Joining PCM inside the UNI-Dome will be Camanche, Central Lyon/George-Little Rock and Waukon.
Here’s a look at an MVP from each game:
Camanche 34, West Liberty 20
Cade Everson, Camanche (2021)
Camanche rode its high-powered offense to a quick 21-0 lead over West Liberty, and used the balance of Cade Everson to remain standing strong.
Everson, a senior, ran for 167 yards on 34 carries with two touchdowns. This time of year, having a reliable, strong back that can handle over 30 rushes is so important in preserving a lead and chewing up the clock.
With teams focused on taking away Jordan Lawrence in the passing game, Camanche will rely on Everson to take advantage of opposing defenses.
Central Lyon/George-Little Rock 34, West Lyon 13
Central Lyon/George-Little Rock Offensive Line
While not entirely sure who handled the duties in the trenches for Central Lyon/George-Little Rock, a quick look at the box score shows who made the difference in this one.
The Lions claimed an easy victory in Beef Bowl II on the heels of 420 yards rushing. That accounted for nearly all of Central Lyon/George-Little Rock’s offense on the night.
Waukon 24, Solon 8
Lincoln Snitker Lincoln Snitker 5'11" | 200 lbs | LB Waukon | 2022 State IA , Waukon (2022)
Waukon’s Lincoln Snitker Lincoln Snitker 5'11" | 200 lbs | LB Waukon | 2022 State IA was all over the field and constantly in the backfield of Solon, recording 9.5 tackles including 4.5 for loss.
The Indians held the Spartans to a lone fourth quarter touchdown, picking off two passes and allowing just 1.9 yards per rush. They had three sacks and 11 tackles for loss as a team.
Monroe-PCM 21, West Marshall 20
Colby Tool, Monroe-PCM (2021)
With his team holding a slim 14-12, Colby Tool picked off a West Marshall pass and darted 31 yards to the end zone for what would be the game-winning points.
Tool was literally all over the field, recording 17 tackles as the Mustangs overcame a 12-0 halftime deficit. Fourteen of those stops were solo tackles for Tool.
While not overly imposing in size at just 5-foot-8 and 175 pounds, Tool is as effective a tackler as there is in the state. Opponents just do no get away from him.
