Kyron Ware-Hudson Kyron Ware-Hudson 6'1" | 205 lbs | WR Mater Dei | 2021 State CA from Mater Dei (Santa Ana) was previously committed to Oregon and announced on Twitter that he will play his college ball at USC.
He committed to Oregon back in December and many experts figured he was a sure thing to sign with the Ducks on signing day.
His older brother Keyon is a redshirt freshman defensive lineman at Oregon.
Kyron’s father Chance spoke with 247Sports about his son’s decision to flip to USC.
“The pandemic is what really started to change things,” Chance told 247Sports. “That’s what got him thinking about staying closer to home and being with his family. Keyon came home one weekend and it was tough for him to go back because of what was going on and Kyron saw that.”

Kyron reportedly always liked USC and once they began recruiting him more heavily, they became hard for him to resist.
“USC didn’t initially recruit Kyron,” Hudson said. “I think a lot of that was me, they knew how strong an Oregon family we were and with Keyon already going there, they never really evaluated him that hard.”
“They got some clips of Kyron working out this past off-season and that got the ball rolling. Kyron is a different player now than he was a year ago. He’s so much more athletic and catches the ball really well. They saw him compete against some college corners, guys like Domani Jackson Domani Jackson 6'2" | 185 lbs | DB Mater Dei | 2022 State CA and a few others and you can see his game has made a jump and that’s when they got involved.”
USC began communicating with Kyron over a week ago but according to Chance the talks really heated up over the Thanksgiving weekend.
“Kyron started talking with the coaches more and seeing how well he fit in with what they like do to on offense. With USC and receivers, it was an easy sell,” Hudson said. ’They run an Air Raid system that rotates 6-8 receivers and everyone is involved. You look at their track record and they get receivers drafted every year. Kyron can move around from the slot to playing out wide and they compared him to Drake London in how he’s able to create separation without being blazing fast.”

Hudson also sees an opportunity for playing time early at USC. Receiver Tyler Vaughns is graduating and Amon-Ra St. Brown may leave early to go to the NFL.
“There’s a good chance London and maybe even Bru (McCoy) leave after next year so even though it may look like they have a ton of receivers, playing time is there if you come in ready,” Hudson said. “Kyron works so hard and that was another thing the coaches at SC liked. It’s not just his receiving skills, it’s how physical be blocks, how hard he trains off the field, how competitive and tough he is. Those are all things they’re looking to add in to the program.”
Kyron is the No. 6 receiver in the state according to Prep Redzone and the No. 29 overall prospect. USC has the No. 7 overall recruiting class according to 247Sports and the No. 2 class in the Pac 12.
