And boy, we were treated to some exciting games this past Friday night.
Eight teams remain in each division with one more win securing a spot inside the warm and comfy UNI-Dome for the winners this coming week.
Here’s a look at the top games and elite performances from the third round of the postseason:
Bruce, Brecht Lead Ankeny
There is no doubt that Ankeny features one of the top offenses in the state led by University of Iowa recruits Brody Brecht Brody Brecht 6'4" | 205 lbs | WR Ankeny | 2021 State IA and Arland Bruce IV Arland Bruce IV 5'10" | 195 lbs | ATH Ankeny | 2021 State IA .
In a 37-16 victory over Cedar Falls, Brecht caught four passes for 86 yards and Bruce had over 200 yards of total offense and two scores. Jase Bauer Jase Bauer 6'1" | 205 lbs | QB Ankeny | 2021 State IA once again directed the ship, completing 10 of 21 for 221 yards and two scores.
Bruce continues to show that he will be a high-level talent for the Hawkeyes. He ran for 147 yards on 17 carries and had 61 yards receiving. His speed and big-play abilities will be a welcome addition for Kirk Ferentz next year.

Balanced Camanche Downs Tipton
Tiptons Payten Elijah did everything he could, but the Tipton senior was unable to overcome the balance of Camanche.
Mike Delzell tossed a pair of touchdown passes, Cade Everson ran for 142 and two scores, and the Indians earned a 35-29 victory.
Elijah threw for 66 yards, ran for 102 and had two scores for Tipton.
Drive For Eight Remains For Dowling
Incredibly, West Des Moines Dowling remains alive in its quest for an eighth consecutive state title in 4A, downing Waterloo West, 38-12.
The Maroons pitched a second half shutout to secure the win.
Khameron Middleton ran for 173 yards and three touchdowns, as the junior continues to compile game film for prospective recruiters. Middleton is a checks in at just under 6-foot tall and weighs 215 pounds, providing both size and speed.
Harlan Wins A Thriller
Much like Dowling, Harlan is a storied program in the state, and the Cyclones found a way to overcome Karson Dunn and Carlisle, claiming a 49-42 victory.
The two teams combined for 35 points in the fourth. Teagon Kasperbauer threw for 190 yards and had two TDs for Harlan with Brenden Bartley running for a pair of scores.
That was enough to overcome Dunn, as the senior threw for 251, ran for 119 and had four touchdowns.
Malcom Rallies Fremont-Mills
In danger of being eliminated, Fremont-Mills looked to senior and Nebraska recruit Seth Malcom Seth Malcom 6'3" | 210 lbs | LB Fremont Mills | 2021 IA .
And he delivered.
Malcom ran for 339 yards and five touchdowns as the Knights posted a 58-42 victory over Martendale-St. Mary’s. Fremont-Mills trailed 22-8 after the first quarter, but outscored the Blue Devils 22-0 in the second.
Jack Franey ended his high school career with over 340 yards of total offense and four touchdowns.
Postseason Valley Continues To Roar
The shortened regular season was a rough one for West Des Moines Valley. But these Tigers are firing on all cylinders in the playoffs.
Mason Morrow threw for 162 yards and completed 13 of 15 passes, Eli Raridon Eli Raridon 6'6" | 230 lbs | TE Valley | 2022 State IA had 71 yards receiving and Dion Hutch led the ground game as Valley ousted Urbandale, 41-0.
Morrow, Raridon and Hutch are all juniors, giving the Tigers even more promise for the future.
Incredible Finish Lifts West Liberty
Down 14-7 entering the fourth quarter, West Liberty scored twice to oust Williamsburg, 20-14.
But that is only part of the story.
Lining up for a game-winning field goal, Williamsburg had the kick blocked. West Liberty scooped it up and returned it all the way for a game-winning touchdown instead.
Lake Newton, a senior, was the player in the right spot with the score. Newton also caught five passes for 52 yards.

Junior Jahsiah Galvan ran for 173 yards and had two touchdowns for West Liberty.
