The state of Indiana has six classifications for high school football and today we are going to look at 5A. Here are five 2021 prospects that you should be aware of to watch in Indiana’s 5A classification!
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="38909" first="Aaron" last="Steinfeldt"] Tight End 6-5 230 Bloomington North High School</strong>
The sure-handed big-bodied Indiana University commit demonstrates the ability to work well in space and understands how to maneuver to get open to make key catches throughout a game. He displays his athletic ability by showing he can transition in and out of his cuts to create separation from coverage effortlessly and effectively. He has also shown the versatility to be able to block from an "in-line" tight end (the tight end that is on the line in a three-point stance) and from the H-Back position (off the ball fullback/tight end hybrid).
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="38942" first="Wenkers" last="Wright"] Running Back 6-0 175 Floyd Central High School</strong>
A versatile athletic running back that displays good awareness and patience for letting blocks set up in front of him and find the open crease and explode through the line of scrimmage. He has a natural feel for running the football and it shows when he delivers runs with aggressive two to three-yard bursts and gains momentum after contact.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="38936" first="Kolby" last="Borders"] Offensive Lineman 6-6 305 McCutcheon High School</strong>
The Miami (Ohio) commit is a strong versatile offensive lineman that has experience playing across the offensive front whether it’s at offensive tackle or at one of the interior spots on the line. He demonstrates good body control by displaying the ability to reach the second level and seal off linebackers with ease, does not overextend on blocks and you can see the athletic ability to have a good base and balance while blocking in open space.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="38955" first="Devon" last="Tippmann"] Linebacker 6-1 205 Bishop Dwenger High School</strong>
An instinctive linebacker that has superb read and react quickness to quickly diagnose plays effectively. He has a natural ability to locate the football and anticipate where the ball carrier is going. He demonstrates "heavy hands" where he uses his strength to stack and shed and accelerate off blocks to make the key tackle.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="38901" first="Rodney" last="McGraw"] Defensive Lineman 6-6 251 Elkhart High School</strong>
The dynamic athletic defensive end who is committed to Penn State University has a lightning-fast quick first step off the line of scrimmage and is a regular in the opposing offense’s backfield. He displays active quick hands which allows him to use an array of pass rush moves to get by opposing offensive lineman.
