3 seniors to watch in 2020/2021
Sebastian Peiffer- Tailback/ Middle Linebacker. 6’2 228lbs. Sebastian has been in the Gladstone football program since the 3rd grade, and is a playmaker on both sides of the ball. He prefers to play offense, but loves to get dirty and hit someone on defense. Peiffer is coming off of an injury in 2019 that took away his almost certain chance to get all league and state honors. He plays fast and is willing to adapt to any coaching scheme at the next level. Extremely smart and athletic. Will be primary ball carrier in ’21.
Jude Ashpole- Y Tight End/ Outside linebacker. 6’4 200 lbs.
Jude is a tall, lenghty, athletic guy who can go up and catch 50/50 balls and stretch the field vertically. Moves well in the hips and feet, and can play multiple positions if asked. Very Athletic with a basketball background and earned All 4A Tri Valley 2 conference 1st team honors as well as 2nd team All-State honors as a linebacker. Has a division 1 mold and skill set. Smart player.Redzone threat. Edge player who ex excels dropping back in coverage.
Mateo Burgos- P-K, QB, SS 6’0 180lbs.
Coach Jedrykowski said that Burgos is talented enough to play anywhere on the field. He will get the opportunity to compete for the starting QB spot. He plays bigger and faster than his 6’0 frame, allowing him to be a quality roving free safety and versatile option to line up in multiple positions. Good hands and feet. Very athletic. Prefers Special Teams.
Sophomores to watch in 2020/2021
Hayden Smith- Z (slot)/ Safety ,6’0 170lbs.
Smith saw good playing time as a freshman in ’19, gaining experience on varsity as a hybrid slot receiver and safety. He has a baseball background and has solid ball skills. Prefers to Play defense. Coaches are looking for a big jump in development from year one to two.
Christian Sanchez-Lopez- 5’10 205 lbs. Offensive Guard/Nose tackle
Sanchez-Lopez is undersized but plays very hard and has plenty of time to grow into his body frame. Solid weight room leader, excells in team leadership.Very high football IQ. Expected to start on both sides of the ball
Tristan Nonne Jr.- 5’7 150 lbs. Receiver-Tailback hybrid/ Cornerback
Quick, fast, twitchy athlete who excells in space. Used primarily as a slot,scat motion back. Big play threat who will be counted on to lead this Gladstone team.
Garrett Finch- 5’7 179 lbs. Quarterback/ Linebacker
Baseball background guy who is very intelligent and coachable. Team guy who is competing for the starting quarterback job on varsity. Solid two way player. Gives maximum effort.
Ethan Finnegan- 6’0 205. Defensive End/ H Tight End
Finnegan earned 2nd team All Tri Valley league 2 honors as a freshman and moves from Linebacker to End this year. Strong fast hand end who uses leverage to get off the edge. Plays as a Motion Tight End on Offense,but prefers to play defense. Expected to start on both sides of the ball.
Calvin Watts- 5’7 165 lbs. Cornerback/X (Primary) receiver. True wideout who excels on the boundary, p!ays primary receiver positon and has excellent ball skills. Solid hands, and run after catch ability is top notch.Team guy who has been in the program since the 3rd grade.
