14 MN 2024s You Need to Know + 2 2025s!!

It’s never too early to get the recruiting coverage going on the young bucks, and today we got some youngins’! Not including the 14 freshman named below, <em>PrepRedzoneMN </em>has gotten the early jump and found two intriguing eighth grade prospects in the state of MN - one of whom started at the varsity level this past season! Some of these prospects have limited film, but I have included as much information as I could find. Thanks for reading! <strong>Daylen Cummings</strong> (<em>Centennial)</em> QB. 6’, 175 lbs. @Daylen_cummings - Played freshman or JV ball and showed off a strong arm and an ability to make throws at all three levels of the field. Also can sling it from the pocket or on the run, and showed some really exciting presence in the pocket and some scrambling ability that set up some crazy and exciting runs. He’s an athletic and really promising future QB prospect whose game I am really high on. <strong>Dominic Heim </strong><em>(Wayzata) </em>LB. 5’10, 190 lbs. @HeimDominic <strong>Jordan Howell </strong><em>(Delasalle) </em>RB/DB. 5’9, 155 lbs. @jordanhowell05 - <strong>Thomas Monahan </strong><em>(Hopkins) </em>DL. 6’, 185 lbs. @tejm2005 - <strong>Maverick Meschke </strong><em>(Hopkins) </em>DL/OL. 6’3, 225 lbs. @MaverickMeschke - <strong>DeShaun Hill </strong><em>(MPLS North) </em>QB. Got to watch him come in at the end of the game against MPLS rival <em>Southwest, </em>and the freshman QB looked athletic in the pocket and made some accurate throws on out-breaking routes to the explosive <em>Polars </em>receivers. He looked confident against a strong <em>Laker </em>defense and should be taking over as QB1 for <em>North </em>next season. <strong>Eldon De Avila </strong><em>(Edina) </em>ATH. 5’10, 165 lbs. @EldondAvila -  Can play QB as well as has some game as a specialist and can kick and punt. He’s got a strong arm and can throw the deep ball, and I like his mechanics and size for his age. He can take off and hurt you with his legs as well. <strong>Josh Quirk </strong><em>(Edina) </em>6’1, 220 lbs. @JOSH81559719 - Looked like a load and a half to bring down as a freshman/JV tight end for the <em>Hornets </em>and had an awesome truck stick in the open field for a TD on his freshman Hudl. He’s athletic for his size and has some good hands and some good hips. He even played some RB for <em>Edina’s </em>offense..do I hear a Jonathan Bunce 2.0?? <strong>Reid Permuth </strong><em>(Prior Lake) </em>TE/OLB. 6’3, 195 lbs. @reidperm - Physical blocker who sprung some big runs on freshman/JV this year for the <em>Lakers </em>offense and also made some nice catches from his TE position. Also played some DE and got himself in some passing lanes. I like his blocking ability the most from what I’ve seen. <strong>Darius Jordan </strong><em>(Rochester John Marshall) </em>QB. 5’10, 140 lbs. @DariusJordan23 - Played some varsity when the <em>Rockets </em>would go up late, and earned a shoutout from some local writers against <em>Austin</em> as he looked quick and elusive and showed off an intriguing arm as well. <strong>Zashon Rich </strong><em>(MPLS North) </em>DB. - I think I already mentioned <strong>Zashon </strong>in a previous article naming some 2024s, but the freshman DB for the <em>Polars </em>was such a ballhawk and made such an impression on me that I had to throw his name in the mix again. He is a long DB with a great vertical and had no problem helping out in run-support. He looked good in both man and zone coverage as well. <strong>Justin Jarland </strong><em>(Rochester John Marshall) </em>RB/LB. 5’11, 170 lbs. - <strong>Riddik Collier </strong><em>(Holy Family) </em>@RiddikCollier - <strong>Jackson Christenson </strong><em>(Forest Lake) </em>QB. 6’, 165 lbs. @Jackson18110554 [embed]https://twitter.com/Jackson18110554/status/1321124588064047104?s=20[/embed] <em><span style="font-size: 18pt;">2025s</span></em> <strong>Meyer Swinney </strong><em>(Edina) </em>WR/TE. 5’11, 150 lbs. @meyer_swinney Brother of the <em>PrepRedzoneMN </em>#2 ranked overall prospect in Cal-Berkeley OL commit <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="18026" first="Bastian" last="Swinney"]</strong> <strong>Hank Artz </strong><em>(Fairmont) </em>DE. 6’, 220 lbs. @ArtzHank - Started varsity for <em>Fairmont </em>as only an eighth grader!! Also the brother of 2022 athlete <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="49826" first="Hudson" last="Artz"]</strong>, younger brother <strong>Hank </strong>already is strong, physical, can get off blocks, and can tackle. I like his violent hands and burst off the LOS, and he looks like he could be a high profile FBS prospect one day. Definitely a kid to keep your eye out for.
