The quarterback position can be categorized as a demanding position in football due to its need to have the ability to have fast and accurate metal processing and the athletic capability to extend drives. The ability to diagnose a defense quickly and effectively along with the ability to get the ball out fast under pressure especially at the high school level really is key for a quarterback to make any offense take off. Here are ten under-the-radar quarterbacks from across the country. [player_tooltip player_id="42627" first="Austin" last="Kolb"] 6-5 205 Desert Ridge High School (Arizona) A tall athletic gunslinger that displays the ability to get the ball out his hands quickly and effectively within his three-step drops. He demonstrates the ability to show confidence in throwing the deep ball with good placement of the football into his receiver’s hands consistently. His pocket presence is on display with the ability to move up and down in the pocket with confidence and can feel pressure. [player_tooltip player_id="25193" first="Colt" last="Fulton"] 6-4 200 San Margarita Catholic (California) The lefthander from California has good poise in the pocket which allows him to make key reads to make plays throughout a game. He does have a long delivery but does generate velocity on his throws and gets the ball out quickly. He does have great control of his deep ball and places the ball in the hands of the receiver without having them adjust their routes. [player_tooltip player_id="22626" first="Ayden" last="Bartko"] 6-4 205 Niwest High School (Colorado) An athletic quarterback that has an almost sidearm type of delivery which gives a lower than normal release point on his throws but displays a strong arm. He does demonstrate confidence and good awareness to make key plays on the ground with the ball in his hands to help extend plays and drives throughout a game. [player_tooltip player_id="32774" first="Jacobi" last="Myers"] 6-3 185 Pointe Verde High School (Florida) He displays a great feel for the pocket not rushed in his mechanics when being pressured and makes good accurate throws. He demonstrates good awareness and patience for routes to develop downfield for his receivers to create separation from the coverage. Has big-time arm strength and accuracy as well to make those tough throws on the run. [player_tooltip player_id="33788" first="Brady" last="Meitz"] 6-2 180 North Forsythe High School (Georgia) He has a natural feel for throwing on the run, throws a good consistent ball with no delay in velocity. He has good awareness in open space when called upon to carry the football and finds the open seam and extends the drive. [player_tooltip player_id="60254" first="Maddox" last="Kopp"] 6-5 215 St.Thomas High School (Texas) A tall gunslinger from the lone star state that has a tight and deliberate delivery in which he can deliver an accurate throw with good velocity on it. He has a natural feel for the deep passing game, has the strength and the touch on his throws to accurately place the ball into the hands of his receivers without disrupting the timing of the throw. [player_tooltip player_id="28538" first="Austin" last="Grier"] 5-11 185 Zebulon B. Vance High School (North Carolina) An athletic quarterback that has already committed to Columbia University, has a good presence in the pocket and awareness to scan the field and extend plays on drives throughout a game. He does have a quick release and displays the timing and anticipation to make key throws when the defense is pressuring him. [player_tooltip player_id="30889" first="Mason" last="Wiesner"] 6-2 190 Little Wolf High School (Wisconsin) A dual-threat quarterback that has the ability to take over a game with his awareness to make key plays through the ground carrying the football or in the air with his quick release. He demonstrates the ability to make tough throws from different release points, and still make key plays throughout the duration of a game. [player_tooltip player_id="27430" first="Ryan" last="Duell"] 6-3 205 West Chester East High School (Pennsylvania) Right off the back, he displays a quick release and the mental toughness which makes this quarterback from the keystone state stand out on film. He demonstrates the ability and accuracy to place the ball through tight windows even when he is being pressured and made to step in the pocket. [player_tooltip player_id="34212" first="Ian" last="Kipp"] 6-2 215 Mentor High School (Ohio) He demonstrates the talent to have good set-up quickness, the ability to quickly and effectively to get the snap and set quickly and confidently with his footwork and get the ball out. You can see that pressure is not a factor for this quarterback, he hangs in the pocket and delivers the ball on time and in rhythm to the receiver without any disruption in mechanics.
