Week 7 Game Preview: McKeesport VS. Thomas Jefferson

We have a great 4A conference matchup between McKeesport (5-1) and Thomas Jefferson (5-0). It starts with senior QB <strong>Jake Pugh</strong> for Thomas Jefferson. Jake is undersized but is athletic and has a decent arm. He has thrown 13 touchdowns this season. To help protect Jake is 6-foot 4 275-pound senior offensive lineman <strong>Jake Krawczyk</strong>. He shows to be physical and drives feet on contact. Pugh has senior receiver in <strong>Ian Hasen</strong>. Ian is a small guy but shows some quickness and speed. He also shows good ball skills. Ian has 15 receptions for 374 yards and 5 touchdowns. McKeesport has junior defensive back <strong>Kanye Thompson</strong>.  Kanye shows size, length, and speed. He should be all over the field.  Along with Kanye in the secondary is sophomore <strong>Jahmil Perryman</strong>. He shows quickness and good speed. Expect him to be around the ball a lot as well. Thomas Jefferson has junior running back/linebacker in <strong>Conner Murgra</strong>. Conner has good size, lacks quickness, decent speed but has good burst. He has a total of 31 carries 258 yards and 8 touchdowns. They also have senior running back <strong>Deron Vanbibbler</strong>. Deron has 55 carries for 316 yards and a touchdown on the season. To help in the defensive run game is McKeesport’s senior linebacker, <strong>Aundre Robinson</strong>. He’s quick to the hole that shows disruptiveness in the backfield. Thomas Jefferson’s offense has been lights out this season, but McKeesport’s defense has the players to hold them. &nbsp; For McKeesport’s offense, they have senior offensive lineman <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27222" first="Colin" last="Lyons"]</strong> up in the trenches. He is quick off the snap and gets on his blocks. McKeesport also has senior athlete <strong>Asaad Robinson</strong>. Asaad will line up at running back and receiver. He Is quick with good speed. They also have a junior running back in <strong>Keyshawn Humphries</strong>. Keyshawn has good size and a thick body. He shows quickness and decent speed but can be hard to take down. Along with Asaad and Keyshawn, McKeesport likes to use the sweeps and reverse with <strong>Kanye Thompson</strong> and <strong>Jahmil Perryman</strong>. Between the four of them, they have a total of 82 carries for 512 yards and 6 touchdowns. Thomas Jefferson’s front seven has a lot cut out for them. They have a sophomore defensive end in <strong>Jordan Mayer</strong>. Jordan has good size and long arms made a one-arm tackle. He has okay get off, uses hands, decent bend. Senior linebacker <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27398" first="Preston" last="Zandier"]</strong> has to be the guy to lead this defense. Along with Preston, is <strong>Conner Murga</strong>, who will be a linebacker at the next level. With McKeesport changing conferences this season, this is the first time they face off with Thomas Jefferson for more than a decade and a half <em>(No info before 2004 season)</em>. McKeesport finds itself in the mix for a wildcard in the playoffs, but they must win if they want a chance.
