Week 4 Game Preview: State College VS. Central Dauphin

We have a very good conference matchup in Central PA between State College and Central Dauphin tomorrow night, Friday, October 2^nd. This will be State College’s first game of the season. Central Dauphin’s junior QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27670" first="Max" last="Mosey"]</strong> leads the way after throwing for 236 yards and 4 touchdowns in the first game. Max is undersized right now but shows to have a good arm. He shows a high, tight, quick release. He does stand like a statue in the pocket but does look athletic. Max has senior offensive tackle <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27297" first="Blaise" last="Heshler"]</strong>, a Sacred Hear commit protecting him. Look for State College sophomore defensive end <strong>Stephen Scourtis</strong> to get snaps. He has good size with long arms. He lacks get off but uses hands well. He shows to be a good tackler. Central Dauphin also has senior athlete in <strong>Timmy Smith</strong>. He plays running back, receiver and linebacker. Timmy shows some quickness with decent speed, stays low running through the hole. Timmy had a big first game with 4 catches 121 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also ran for 79 yards and a touchdown. State College’s junior linebacker <strong>Ryan Domico</strong> will be around the run game. He shows some quickness with decent speed, but he is physical and a good tackler. Central Dauphin has another offensive weapon in junior <strong>Tyrell English</strong>. He lines up as a receiver but was used in the jet sweep game last season. He shows quickness and good speed. He had a 50-yard reception in last week’s game. State College has a couple of senior defensive backs to stop Tyrell and Timmy in <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27307" first="Sammy" last="Knipe"]</strong>, who is a Navy commit, and <strong>Carson Franks</strong>. Carson has good size and a good tackler but takes them down at the legs. He lacks quickness and speed which makes him more of a boundary safety. &nbsp; State College has a running back of their own in senior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="27224" first="Dresyn" last="Green"]</strong>, who is being recruited by FCS schools. <strong>Timmy Smith</strong> and other Central Dauphin linebackers, <strong>Paul Clark</strong> and <strong>Dan Ficca</strong> should be all over Dresyn. State College has a junior wide receiver in <strong>Jashaun Green</strong>. He is 6-foot 3 170 pounds. He has a good release, looks to be a good route runner, good ball skills, and physical in the run game. Central Dauphin must stop Jashaun if they want to win and that starts with senior defensive back <strong>Malachi Bowman</strong>. Malachi has good speed to stay with Jashaun but is undersized. He shows good break and acceleration to the ball with good tackling. Malachi will get help in senior safety <strong>Shamilyn Joppy</strong>. Shamilyn has good size and has the ability to high point the ball to try to create those turnovers. Central Dauphin is 3-2 in the past five meetings against State College. The last time State College won was in 2018. Who will win this rivalry matchup this year?
